Steve Cooper’s Swansea City will be hoping to get their promotion bid back on track when they entertain Mark Warburton’s Queens Park Rangers at the Liberty Stadium in the EFL Championship on Tuesday. QPR are unpredictable these days, though, and the Londoners could give the Welsh side a good game in South Wales.

Swansea City Preview – Can the Swans claim a first win in four in midweek?

Swansea City moved into the play-off places with a 2-1 home win over Wigan Athletic in mid-January. However, Steve Cooper’s men have failed to win any of their following three in the Championship, losing to Stoke City and Derby County, and drawing with Preston North End.

Last time out, Swansea were beaten by Derby at the Liberty. It was a topsy-turvy and enthralling game in Wales, with the Rams edging it 3-2. It was Derby’s first away league win since the opening weekend of the season, and the Swans’ first home loss in six (three wins, two draws).

The Welsh side now find themselves four points adrift of the play-off spots in ninth place, with rivals Cardiff City going above them after last weekend’s results. Swansea are still very much in the mix for promotion, but Cooper and his team need to get back at track as quickly as possible. Can they put things right with a home win over QPR in midweek?

Queens Park Rangers Preview – Can the Hoops avoid a sixth straight away defeat?

Mark Warburton’s Queens Park Rangers are arguably one of the most unpredictable teams in the second tier. On their day, QPR are capable of putting any side to the sword but they head to South Wales having lost four of their last five and seven of their past ten in the Championship.

Since a superb 1-0 home win over Leeds United on January 18th, QPR have lost three in a row in league action, with Blackburn Rovers, Bristol City and Huddersfield Town all getting the better of them. Rangers have won just one of five league games since a thumping 6-1 win over Cardiff City at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium on New Year’s Day.

The Hoops have been dreadful on their travels over the past couple of months or so. Since a 2-0 win at Birmingham City in mid-December, QPR have lost each of their following five away games in the Championship.

The London side head to Wales having lost eight of their past 11 on the road in the league. Nevertheless, can Mark Warburton’s troops cause an upset at the Liberty on Tuesday night?

Swansea City vs Queens Park Rangers Betting Advice

At the beginning of the year, QPR walloped Swansea 5-1 in the capital in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup. That big win came just days after their 6-1 league triumph over Cardiff.

However, in the league meeting at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium back in August, Swansea ran out comfortable 3-1 winners, with Bersant Celina, Borja Baston and Sam Surridge getting the goals.

Key Facts – Swansea City vs Queens Park Rangers Betting Tip

  • Swansea have won just one of six across all competitions
  • QPR have lost each of their last five away games
  • Ten goals have been scored in the two meetings between the duo this season

Both sides could really do with a win on Tuesday, but I can see the pair playing out an entertaining draw at the Liberty. Put a few quid on the draw and both teams to score at the decent price of 13/5.
