Swansea City Preview – Swans to return to winning ways?

Steve Cooper’s Swansea City have made a solid start to their Championship season. The Swans are in sixth spot after 11 games, winning five, drawing four and losing just two. The Welsh side have only shipped seven goals along the way, which is the fewest amount in the division.

The Swans were on a five-game unbeaten run before their last fixture. Unfortunately, before the break, Swansea were narrowly beaten by Norwich City at Carrow Road. That was their first reverse since losing at home to Huddersfield Town on October 17th.

Our betting prediction:

Swansea – who finished sixth and reached the play-offs last term – will want to get back on track with three points at the Liberty Stadium at the weekend. City are the odds-on favourites at 7/10.

Rotherham United Preview – Sixth league loss of the season for the Millers?

Rotherham United were promoted from EFL League One last term. The Millers have had a difficult start to life back in the Championship, winning just three of their opening 11 games. Since winning at Wycombe Wanderers on the opening weekend, United have picked up just two victories from the following ten.

After three defeats in four, though, Rotherham signed off for the international break with a priceless win over Preston North End at the New York Stadium. Matt Crooks’ goal four minutes from time gave United the points on home soil.

Rotherham won one and drew two of their opening three away matches in this season’s Championship. However, Paul Warne’s men head to South Wales having lost their last two on the road, failing to score in defeats to Reading and Stoke City. This will be another tough one for the Yorkshire side.

Swansea City vs Rotherham United Betting Advice

Swansea edged a seven-goal thriller at the Liberty when these two teams last met. Oli McBurnie was the Swans’ hero, netting twice. The reverse game that season ended in a 2-1 win for Rotherham at the New York Stadium. That remains the Millers’ only victory over Swansea since 2006.

Key Facts – Swansea City vs Rotherham United Betting Tip

  • Swansea have won three of the previous four meetings
  • The Welsh outfit are just three points from the top, while the Millers are down in 19th place
  • The Swans have conceded the fewest goals in this term’s Championship so far (seven)

Swansea have the better players on paper, and Cooper’s troops will be looking for maximum points after losing at Carrow Road before the break. Rotherham will no doubt have a real go in Wales, but we can see the home side prevailing here. There is excellent value in the Swansea win and both teams to score at 3/1.

Andre Ayew may be 30 these days, but the Ghana international is in the form of his life at the moment. The attacker has scored seven goals in 14 appearances for club and country so far this season. Ayew is the 15/4 favourite to open the scoring in this one.
