Football – Asia – World Cup Qualifier Betting Tips

Onto Group A, and fourth placed Syria will be looking to play catch up on Uzbekistan who are four points ahead of them, prior to their home game against disappointing China, who sit in fifth place.

It’s been a bit of a start-stop World Cup qualifying campaign so far for Syria who have captured wins over China 1-0 at home and a 1-0 home win over Uzbekistan, but have also suffered defeats to bottom nation Qatar and at Korea Republic, although both of these losses were on the road.

Syria remain unbeaten at home though, and their form on home turf still remains their best chance of claiming the third place play-off spot, but you do get the feeling that they need to win here tonight if they’re to stand a chance of catching up to Uzbekistan.

Fifth placed China continue to disappoint and perform well below national expectations, particularly when you consider the huge financial cash injection that their game has received in recent times, not least the domestic scene.

But this has yet to transfer into the national team who have managed just one win in their World Cup campaign so far, which was a 1-0 home win over Korea Republic, but their exploits away from home have let them down.

China have lost all three of their away matches in Group A to date with losses incurred at Korea Republic, Uzbekistan and Iran, so I’m expecting them to try and keep things much tighter this evening on the back of an away record of  0-0-3  2/6 to date.

Four of China’s last five away results have been under 2.5, while Syria’s last seven World Cup qualifiers overall have been low-scoring affairs.
