Although Mattersburg ended the regular season in disappointing fashion having been dealt back-to-back defeats by Rapid Vienna 3-1 and a 1-0 loss at home to LASK, the visitors have dusted themselves off and responded positively by gaining a point in a 1-1 draw at home with Altach which was followed by a 2-0 win on the road at Admira.
Mattersburg will therefore feel that they can also get something out of this important encounter as they look to keep in touch with the top two teams in the Relegation group, and having won three of their last four on the road, they may well have a case here.
