This weekend sees the return of the Premier League following a brief hiatus due to the international break, but we’re back in full swing on Saturday with Tottenham taking on Crystal Palace as the betting tips continue at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham Prediction – Can Tottenham get going?
Upon first glance at Tottenham’s last result in the Premier League prior to the international break, and you’d think a point away at Arsenal in a 2-2 draw would be considered a reasonable result in the North London derby – however, it will have felt like 2 points dropped as Spurs held a 2-0 lead at The Emirates Stadium but were pegged back to 2-2 by Arsenal.
Tottenham now return to home turf for this Saturday afternoon’s clash with Crystal Palace looking to get their season going, having registered just 1 win from their opening 4 matches of this new Premier League season.
That win came in the shape of a convincing 3-1 home win over newly promoted Aston Villa on the opening day of the season, but since then, Tottenham have earned a decent point in a 2-2 draw away at Manchester City, but have then fallen to a somewhat surprising 1-0 loss at home to Newcastle United.
The 2-2 draw with Arsenal, whilst frustrating, was still a local derby and at least they didn’t lose that one, but it’s back to business for this clash against a high-flying Crystal Palace outfit who are in 4th place ahead of this weekend’s action.
Crystal Palace Prediction – Can Crystal Palace make it three on the trot?
After having dispensed of Aston Villa with a 1-0 win on home turf at Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace would have been more than happy to continue with the season instead of going into the international break as the Villa win was their second victory on the trot.
Previously, Crystal Palace had picked up a valuable 3 points with a 2-1 win away at Old Trafford against Manchester United and the London club now sit in 4th place in the early Premier League standings as Roy Hodgson’s side look to record a third win on the trot against Tottenham.
Palace had earlier made a slow start to their new top flight campaign as they were held to a 0-0 draw at Selhurst Park by Everton on the opening day of the season, and this disappointing result was followed by a 1-0 loss away from home at newly promoted Sheffield United.
Back-to-back wins though have rejuvenated Roy Hodgson’s side but we’ll find out if they’ve got what it takes against this Tottenham outfit who they’ve failed to beat in their last 3 visits to North London.
