Premier League Betting at bet365

Tottenham Prediction

Tottenham crashed to a third defeat in four matches when they were handed a 2-0 defeat away at Crystal Palace in the 4th round of the FA Cup which followed a League Cup exit to Chelsea and an earlier 1-0 defeat at home to a revived Manchester United in the Premier League.

Although they recorded a 2-1 win away at Fulham last time out in the Premier League and hold a four point lead ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino knows they can’t afford to slip up against Watford tonight.

Spurs trail league leaders Liverpool by a nine point margin and it’s looking highly unlikely that the North London club will catch The Reds up, so another top four finish will be the minimum requirement from hereon in.

Tottenham will also be keen to improve upon a disappointing home record which stands at 6-0-4 18/10 which includes recent back-to-back defeats to Wolves and Manchester United. With this in mind, it may be prudent to avoid backing Tottenham but having scored in 8 of their 10 home matches to date, the hosts should be reliable goalscorers tonight.

Key-Facts – Tottenham v Watford

  • Tottenham have scored in 8 of their 10 home matches to date
  • Watford have failed to score in just 3 of their 11 away matches
  • 6 of Watford’s 11 away matches have seen both teams score

Watford Prediction

Watford registered a 2-0 win away at Newcastle United in the 4th round of the FA Cup in a match which saw both managers make sweeping changes to their league personnel, but it’s back to Premier League action for The Hornets tonight as they make their way to Wembley to take on a potentially wobbling Tottenham outfit.

Watford are unbeaten in their last four matches with three draws against Newcastle United, Bournemouth and Burnley in 1-1, 3-3 and 0-0 draws respectively, along with a 2-1 win away at Crystal Palace.

It’s been a successful campaign so far for Javi Gracia’s side as they occupy a top half position in the Premier League in 10th place, while recent results away from home have also been encouraging; an away record of 4-4-3 16/14 is a very reasonable return on their travels indeed, and includes points at Everton and Bournemouth as well as wins at West Ham and Crystal Palace.

Watford have failed to score in just 3 of their 11 away matches to date while both teams have scored in 6 of these 11 away matches.

Betting Tips Verdict

Both Tottenham and Watford are capable of scoring as well as conceding goals so I’ll opt for both teams to hit the back of the net here.
