Tottenham will be looking to bounce back with all three points when they return to Wembley Stadium for this Saturday’s clash against West Brom,following last week’s north London derby defeat to Arsenal.
Tottenham were handed a second away defeat on the trot when they went down 2-0 at derby rivals, Arsenal, and Spurs will now be looking to take advantage of a poor West Brom side on home turf where they’ve picked up three straight Premier League wins on the trot with victories over Bournemouth, Liverpool and Crystal Palace.
Tottenham’s home record has certainly improved after much hype from the media about them struggling to come to terms with playing at Wembley, and their record now sits at a much more respectable looking 3-2-1 8/4 which includes three clean sheets to date.
Visitors West Brom took the bold decision of sacking former manager, Tony Pulis at the start of this week following a run of 10 league matches without a win which has left The Baggies just one league place and one point above the bottom three.
However, Pulis is the kind of manager you want if your team is in a relegation scrap, and I’m finding it difficult to believe that caretaker-manager, Gary Megson, will be able to turn things around at The Hawthorns, even on a temporary basis.
West Brom have lost their last four matches on the trot, conceding 9 goals and scoring just 2 in reply, while their away record stands at a poor 1-1-4 3/8, with their one success this season being a 1-0 win at Burnley earlier in the season. The west midlands club have slumped to five matches without a win on the road since though.
