Tottenham vs Chelsea Live Stats & Betting Odds

Tottenham Prediction – Can Tottenham win three on trot?

Following the ever so slightly awkward return to Old Trafford where Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham side lost 2-1 to his former club, Spurs have since bounced back with impressive wins against Burnley 5-0 at home and an important 2-1 win away from home at Wolves.

Tottenham now sit in 7th place but all three points in this all-London affair against rivals and 4th placed Chelsea would see Tottenham replace The Blues into 4th spot, so plenty on the line here for both teams ahead of this clash of the day on Sunday.

Recent form has been impressive for Tottenham under Mourinho as the hosts have won 4 of their last 5 matches overall which includes earlier victories over West Ham and Bournemouth, while Tottenham also possess a fairly solid looking home record of 5-2-1 19/7.

Spurs will undoubtedly face their biggest test yet at home this season though in the shape of Chelsea, so the goals markets look an attractive proposition here; 5 of Tottenham’s 8 home matches to date have resulted in over 2.5 goals and until Mourinho has sorted this Tottenham defence out, this looks a good option.

Chelsea Prediction – Can Chelsea consolidate 4th spot?

With the top three places in the Premier League seemingly already sorted out, the fourth place position is still up for grabs and current incumbents Chelsea are under increasing pressure to hold onto 4th spot following some very disappointing results in recent weeks.

After a golden period from the end of September through to mid-November, Frank Lampard’s Chelsea outfit could simply do no wrong as The Blues racked up 6 league wins on the trot and seemed to be marching towards a guaranteed top four finish in his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.

But as we know, there are no guarantees in the Premier League and Chelsea have since slumped to 4 defeats from their subsequent 5 matches having suffered losses against Manchester City, West Ham, Everton and most surprising of all, a 1-0 loss at home to Bournemouth last weekend.

Chelsea still possess a reasonable looking away record of 5-0-3 20/17 but this includes recent back-to-back defeats on their travels so Lampard will be demanding a better performance from his troops this Sunday afternoon, but the straight win may be too much to ask for.
