Toulouse find themselves in a lowly position of 15th place on the Ligue 1 ladder following a dismal run of six matches without a win in the French top flight. Guingamp’s mini revival continued last weekend when they took a point off Nantes at home with a 0-0 draw which extended their unbeaten run of games to three matches following a 0-0 draw away at Bordeaux and a 1-0 home win against Angers.
Guingamp still remain bottom of the pile despite this recent upturn in results but they still find themselves eight points adrift of safety and Monaco, and it appears the best case scenario for the visitors’ safety is to grab the relegation play-off spot, being just two points adrift of Dijon ahead of their trip to Toulouse this Sunday.
The fact also remains that Guingamp have managed to record just the one win from their last seven matches overall in Ligue 1, which includes a 9-0 embarrassment away at PSG towards the end of January.
The visitors have gained just one win from their last eight matches on their travels which was a 2-0 win away at Monaco, but this was when Thierry Henry was manager of Monaco, so this win should be taken with a pinch of salt as the municipality were on their knees back then.
