Newcomers Tranmere Rovers have made a good start to life back in the Football League as they’ve lost just once in their first six matches of the season, which was a 3-2 loss away at Swindon Town.
Wins over Cheltenham Town and Port Vale will have pleased manager Micky Mellon and fans alike although these two teams have made a slow start to the campaign. Visitors Colchester United have also made a good start to their new campaign as The U’s currently occupy fourth place having been defeated just once so far this season.
Colchester’s one loss was at home to Northampton Town but John McGreal’s side quickly bounced back with a 3-1 win away at Cheltenham Town last weekend. Colchester still remain unbeaten away from home following points earned at Notts County and Mansfield Town in 0-0 and 1-1 draws.
The win at Cheltenham Town will be a timely boost for the Essex outfit as they make their way up to Birkenhead to face Tranmere Rovers, and with forwards Norris (3 goals) and Dickenson (2 goals) in early goalscoring form, they stand a good chance of taking something from this clash.
My betting tips therefore suggest backing Colchester United with the handicap.
