Tranmere Rovers sit in fifth place in the National League and they bring a four match unbeaten run into Saturday afternoon’s clash with Ebbsfleet United, as the hosts look to push themselves into automatic promotion contention.
Draws with Barrow and Wrexham (both away from home), along with wins over Woking and Maidenhead United have re-ignited Tranmere’s push for promotion, and with Rovers in blistering form at Prenton Park, they look a good bet to take the spoils here this afternoon.
Tranmere have won their last seven league matches on the trot on home turf, and boast a good home record of 10-2-3 32/12, along with recording the most home wins in the National League to date. Watch for the forward trio of Cook (12 goals), Norwood (11 goals) and Jennings (7 goals) to create havoc.
Visitors Ebbsfleet United sit in mid-table as recent form seems to have eluded them with just one league win from their last six matches overall; the win came in a 2-1 victory away at 16th placed Maidstone United, but defeats to Bromley, Chester and Boreham Wood have undone the previous good work by ‘fleet during November.
Three wins from four matches during the November sequence saw Ebbsleet register wins over Hartlepool United, Guiseley and Bromley, but all three were recorded at their Stonebridge Road ground, while away form has been less convincing.
An away record of 3-8-4 17/19 includes just one win from their last eight on their travels, and although we need to be mindful of a possible draw here, I’m pretty confident that Tranmere can continue their winning momentum in this encounter.
