Turkey Preview – Will the Turks remain unbeaten?

Turkey kicked off their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign with a stunning home victory over Netherlands. There may have been no fans in attendance at Ataturk Olympic Stadium, but the supporters watching from home had a real treat. The excellent Burak Yilmaz helped himself to a hat-trick to give Turkey a 4-2 win.

Turkey followed up the win over Holland with a comfortable 3-0 success against Norway in Malaga three days later. This time, Ozan Tufan netted a brace, and Leicester City’s Caglar Soyuncu got the other.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score
11/10

The Crescent-Stars were held to a 3-3 home draw by Latvia in their last qualifier, but Senol Gunes’ troops are top of the table after three rounds and have put themselves in a great position to reach the World Cup. Can they move on to ten points from four matches on Wednesday night?

Montenegro Preview – Can the visitors cause an upset in Istanbul?

Miodrag Radulovic’s Montenegro could be the dark horses in Group G. So far, the Brave Falcons have taken six points from a possible nine and occupy third spot, level with Holland and Norway. In their opening matchup back in March, Montenegro edged past Latvia in Riga.

They then moved on to six points with an easy win over Gibraltar at the City Stadium in Podgorica. Fatos Beciraj, Marko Simic, Zarko Tomasevic and Stevan Jovetic got the goals in the 4-1 rout. In game three, though, Montenegro were narrowly beaten at home by Norway.

These two last met in an international friendly fixture back in March 2018. The pair played out a thrilling 2-2 draw, with Montenegro coming from two goals down to salvage a draw. Stefan Mugosa equalised with just three minutes to go.

Key Facts – Turkey vs Montenegro Betting Tip

  • Turkey are unbeaten so far, winning two and drawing one of three
  • Montenegro have taken six points out of nine thus far
  • These two drew 2-2 in a friendly when they last met

Although Montenegro are not a million miles away, Turkey have the better players and should get the job done on their own patch. The visitors will surely have a go in Istanbul, so check out the decent odds of 11/4 for the home win and both teams to score.

Turkey have been leading at the interval in all three of their World Cup qualifiers so far. With that in mind, it could be worth backing the Crescent-Stars to be winning at half time and full time in this one at the decent odds of 13/10.
