Having finished 11th last season in what was their first time playing in the Bundesliga last season, the general feeling was that if Union could match that then they would be looking at another successful season. Indeed, for many promoted teams the second season is often harder. Not for Union, however. Dardai has given the club some hope in doing just that as Hertha have won two of their last three games, moving them to fourth bottom but only one point above Koln who sit directly below them. It leaves little margin for error but they do actually have a favourable-looking run-in as they don’t play anybody currently ranked higher than tomorrow’s opponents between now and the end of the season.
Few will expect Hertha to get all three points from this match, though, as they have managed only two away wins all season. The most recent of those coming back in November.
