Valencia Preview – Can Valencia bounce back at home?
Sunday’s hosts, Valencia, were handed a heavy 3-0 defeat away from home at Barcelona and it was a rare occurrence that Valencia didn’t at least hit the bak of the net against the current league leaders, but they’ll be looking to turn things around this Sunday when they host Osasuna.
Valencia had previously put together a three-match unbeaten run in the Spanish top flight which included a 2-1 home win over Real Betis which was followed by back-to-back draws with Deportivo Alaves and Levante, both in 1-1 stalemates.
With just one win out of their last seven matches overall in La Liga, Valencia desperately need to produce a response this Sunday if they’re to remain in the hunt for a possible top six spot as they trail 6th placed Real Sociedad by a four-point margin prior to this weekend’s fixtures, but form at home has been solid this season as Valencia still remain unbeaten at home this term.
Osasuna Preview – Can Osasuna recover from heavy defeat?
A 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Atletico Madrid in their own backyard of the Estadio El Sadar isn’t the best preparation for Osasuna’s trip to Valencia this Sunday as the visitors look to shake off that embarrassing defeat on home turf with a result here.
However, this may be easier said than done as Osasuna have managed to pick up just one win out of their last five matches, and just two from their previous eight overall in La Liga which has resulted in Osasuna dropping down to 13th place on the Spanish top flight ladder.
Results away from home have also been fairly poor as the visitors have collected just one win from their last six matches which came in the shape of a 1-0 win at Athletic Bilbao, but the bigger picture shows that Osusana have struggled for victories on their travels in La Liga for some time, winning just three of their last 18 matches.
