It’s a quick return to the Brazilian top flight next with Vasco da Gama taking on Chapecoense as the betting tips continue in this Sunday’s action around the world.
Both Vasco and Chapecoense sit in the bottom half of Serie A but level on 21 points apiece as they both nervously look over their shoulders to the bottom four and the relegation zone with fourth from bottom club Sport Recife just one point adrift.
Vasco da Gama are without a win from their last five matches overall which includes defeats to Corinthians, Sao Paulo and Palmeiras, although they’ve recently picked up points against Ceara and Atletico Mineiro in recent 1-1 and 0-0 stalemates respectively.
Vasco’s home record stands at a so-so 5-2-3 17/15 but they’ve suffered just one loss in their last five at their Estádio Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama.
Chapecoense sit just one league position below Vasco da Gama as they make their way to Rio de Janeiro, and although they showed a flicker of a revival recently, they come into this clash on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Sao Paulo.
Chape had recently picked up points against Gremio and Sport Recife, both in 1-1 draws, along with a useful 2-1 home win over Corinthians, but the loss at Sao Paulo ensured the visitors still remain without a win on their travels this season.
An away record of 0-4-6 6/19 is almost the exact opposite to that of their home record at their Arena Condá in Santa Catarina, and their results on the road have certainly held them back from climbing the Serie A league ladder.
To sum up, my betting tips fancy Vasco da Gama to perhaps edge this one, but advise keeping the draw on your side as far as possible.
