Venezuela Prediction- Can Venezuela cause an upset?

It’s been a successful campaign in the Copa America so far for Venezuela who finished runners-up to Brazil in Group A.

They managed to edge out Peru and bottom nation, Bolivia, to take their place in the quarter-finals as they finished 1 point ahead of 3rd placed Peru.

Venezuela also still remained unbeaten throughout the group stages as they picked up points against Peru and Brazil, both in 0-0 stalemates.

A 3-1 win over Bolivia sealed their place in the last eight of the Copa America where they’ll face Argentina but they’re unlikely to be over-awed.

An unbeaten run of 4 matches which also includes a 3-0 win over USA prior to the start of this competition means that Venezuela have conceded just 1 goal out of their last 4 matches.

Results away from home have seen just 2 defeats out of Venezuela’s last 9 matches on their travels, so they’ll be confident they can get a result here on Friday night.

Venezuela are also unbeaten in their last 3 meetings against Argentina.

Argentina Prediction – Can Argentina live up to favourites tag here?

Argentina’s passage through to the quarter-finals of the Copa America was less convincing as the Group B favourites just about scraped through.

Their Copa America campaign started in disastrous fashion as they were handed a 2-0 defeat by eventual Group B winners, Colombia.

A 1-1 draw with Paraguay was another disappointing result for the Argentinians but they at last clicked into gear with a 2-0 win over Qatar.

That final group match win over Qatar was enough to see Argentina qualify for a place in the last eight of the tournament.

However, Argentina’s performances and results have been far from convincing in recent times despite recording a 5-1 win over Nicaragua just before the competition started.

Argentina also lost to Friday night’s quarter-final opponents, Venezuela, in an international friendly 3-1 defeat back in March.

Having failed to beat Venezuela in their last 3 meetings, this quarter-final clash against them looks to be a tight encounter.

Just 2 clean sheets from their last 6 matches in all competitions make Argentina a slightly vulnerable outfit right now.

Key-Facts – Venezuela v Argentina

  • Venezuela are unbeaten in their last 4 matches overall, conceding just 1 goal
  • Venezuela are also unbeaten in their last 3 meetings against Argentina
  • Argentina have kept just 2 clean sheets from their last 6 matches overall

Betting Tips Verdict

Venezuela have a decent chance of upsetting the odds here, and even if Argentina do win, this is likely to be much closer than many anticipate.
