Ivan Juric has had multiple spells at Genoa having started his career in the lower leagues of Italian football, but the Croatian coach is surpassing all expectations and previous evidence with how he has got this Verona team performing this season. A top-half finish in the previous campaign was a solid foundation to build upon and they are hoping to outperform that this time around.

Even last weekend’s win away to Roma – which was well deserved – did not act as a turning point. Milan were only able to follow that one up with a 1-1 draw at home to Udinese in midweek – and they only got that following a penalty seven minutes into added time at the end of the game.
As much as the title might be slipping away, Milan have to find a way to start winning games regularly as their place in the top four and Champions League football could well be under threat otherwise.
