Europa League Betting at Bet Victor

Villarreal Prediction

Villarreal make their way inot this 1st leg on the back of three matches without a win in La Liga following defeats to Celta Vigo and Real Betis in 3-2 and 2-1 defeats, both being away from home, but they did hold La Liga leaders, Barcelona to a 4-4 draw in-between at home.

Villarreal progress through to the last eight of the Europa League thanks to knock-out wins against Portuguese club Sporting CP and Russian outfit Zenit in the rounds of 32 and 16 respectively, while overall form in this competition has seen the hosts put together a 10-match sequence without defeat.

The hosts are unbeaten in their last five home ties in this competition, but along with three defeats on home turf to Roma, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Lyon, Villarreal have only mustered four wins out of their last 10 ties at their Estadio de la Cerámica.

Past meetings against Valencia have seen one win, one draw and one defeat for the hosts, while their main goal threats are represented in the forward line of Ekambi (8 goals) along with Moreno and Bacca (5 goals apiece).

Key-Facts – Villarreal v Valencia

  • Villarreal have won only 4 of their last 10 home ties in the Europa League
  • Valencia have lost just 1 of their last 9 Europa League ties
  • Valencia won the last clash against Villarreal 3-0 at home in La Liga

Valencia Prediction

Valencia progress through to the quarter-finals of the Europa League thanks to knock-out wins against Celtic 3-0 on aggregate in the round of 32 which was followed up by a narrow 3-2 aggregate win against Russian club, Krasnodar in the previous round of 16.

Recent form has seen the visitors lose just once out of their last 18 matches overall in all competitions, which was a defeat away at Rayo Vallecano 2-0 away from home in La Liga, but they’ll fancy their chances of getting a positive result against Villarreal on Thursday night after a previous strong unbeaten run.

Valencia have suffered just one defeat from their last nine matches in the Europa League which was a 1-0 loss at Athletic Bilbao back in 2016, but they’ve since recorded wins against Athletic Bilbao, Celtic (home and away) and Kradnodar.

The visitors have lost three of their last nine on their travels with losses at Basel and Sevilla and Athletic Bilbao but have registered wins at Rapid Vienna and Celtic in recent times.

Midfielder Parejo (8 goals) along with forwards Rodrigo (5 goals) and Gameiro (4 goals) are the visitors’ best chances of scoring in this local encounter, and the visitors should at least avoid defeat here.

Betting Tips Verdict

This clash is likely to be a tight affair, and the handicap on Valencia looks the best play here.
