It’s a quick trip over to Austria now with my next two picks featuring matches in the Bundesliga. Firstly, a look at Wacker Innsbruck taking on LASK Linz as the betting tips continue on Sunday afternoon.
Wacker Innsbruck currently sit bottom of the Austrian Bundesliga having registered just two wins from their first 9 matches of the new season, and they come into this Sunday afternoon clash on the back of five defeats from their last six matches overall.
Recent defeats to St Polten, Rapid Vienna, Wolfsberger, Admira and Mattersburg have resulted in Karl Daxbacher’s side propping up the rest of the division, and although they recently recorded a 2-1 home win over fellow strugglers, Hartberg, this has been the exception rather than the rule.
A home record of 1-0-3 5/9 already suggests that the hosts could be facing a tough relegation battle this season. The home side have won just 3 of their last 15 at home in the Bundesliga.
LASK Linz currently occupy third place on the Austrian top flight league ladder and all three points this Sunday would see them leapfrog St Polten into second place. LASK can now focus their full attention to the domestic scene as they were narrowly beaten by Turkish club Besiktas in the Europa League qualifiers, although they did beat the Turkish club 2-1 in the second leg at home.
Since then, LASK have embarked upon an impressive set of results, winning five of their next six in the Bundesliga which has helped lift them into third spot. The visitors also possess a useful looking away record of 4-0-1 9/4 and although they lost 3-1 at league leaders Salzburg, they’ve since put together a four match winning streak on their travels.
Wins at Admira, Hartberg, Mattersburg and Austria Vienna prove they’re no also-rans, and they have additional incentive to get all three points here.
