Rob Page’s Wales and Roberto Martinez’s Belgium go head-to-head at the Cardiff City Stadium in 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying action this Tuesday night. The Belgians won Group E at the weekend, while the Dragons moved a step closer to securing second spot. Wales are already in the play-offs via the UEFA Nations League, but Page & Co. would love to seal second with a positive result in Cardiff. Wales Preview – Can the Dragons upset the Belgians in Cardiff?

Rob Page’s Wales are in pole position to make second place in Group E. The Dragons have taken 14 points from a possible 21, winning four, drawing two and suffering one defeat. They are unbeaten in the group since losing to Belgium on matchday one.

Wales moved three points clear of Czech Republic with a hammering victory over Belarus on Saturday. Goals from Aaron Ramsey (2), Neco Williams, Ben Davies and Connor Roberts was enough for a 5-1 win at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score
3/4

The Cardiff City Stadium has become a fortress for Wales, especially since Page took over. They have upset the Belgians at this ground before – can they pull off another eye-catching result against the world’s No. 1 ranked nation on Tuesday?

Belgium Preview – Will the Red Devils end with three points?

Roberto Martinez’s Belgium have hardly broken a sweat in 2022 World Cup qualifying. The Red Devils have dropped just two points, winning six and drawing one of seven. They have scored 24 goals and shipped just five.

Belgium made sure of direct qualification to Qatar with an easy home win on Saturday. In front of almost 30,000 at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels, goals from Christian Benteke, Yannick Carrasco and Thorgan Hazard earned the Belgians a 3-1 victory over Estonia.

No. 1 spot in the group is sewn up, but Belgium will be looking to sign off with a win in Wales on Tuesday. As expected, the visitors are the favourites, with the bookies offering just 13/10 for a Belgian win.

Wales vs Belgium Betting Advice

A beautiful Harry Wilson goal gave Wales a tenth-minute lead when these two locked horns in Leuven back in March. However, the Belgians took control of the game after that, with Kevin De Bruyne, Thorgan Hazard and Romelu Lukaku scoring in a 3-1 win.

That was the first meeting between the two since that memorable UEFA Euro 2016 knockout game in Lille, which Wales won 3-1. The Welsh also won when the pair last squared off in Cardiff, with Gareth Bale netting in a 1-0 victory back in June 2015.

Key Facts – Wales vs Belgium Betting Tip

  • Belgium have won just one of the last five meetings
  • The Belgians are through to the World Cup after winning Group E
  • A point will be enough for Wales to finish runners-up to the Belgians

Wales are certainly Belgium’s bogey team, but the Red Devils did get the win in Leuven back in March. Belgium were their usual selves after an early setback in the eventual 3-1 triumph.

Of course, Martinez’s men are the favourites here, but we fancy Wales to battle to a draw in Cardiff. The stalemate and both teams to score is available at 10/3. The draw at half time and full time at 4/1 has also caught the eye.
