Watford Prediction

Watford have produced some encouraging displays and results in recent weeks as the hosts have suffered just one defeat from their last seven matches overall which was a 2-1 loss at home to 4th placed Chelsea.

However, that’s been the only blot on their copybook in recent weeks as The Hornets have captured wins against Cardiff City, West Ham and Wolves – the latter two results being achieved away from home, along with picking up points in draws with Everton, Newcastle United and Bournemouth.

At home, Watford possess an indifferent home record of 5-1-5 16/18 but they’ll be keen to make improvements upon recent results at Vicarage Road as they’ve won just once in their last five matches (which includes three losses) – it’s worth noting though that all three defeats were against teams in the ‘Big Six’, namely Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea.

Midfielder Peyrera (6 goals), Deulafeu (3 goals), Doucoure (3 goals), Deeney (5 goals) and Gray (3 goals) should see Watford stake a claim for the points here.

Key-Facts – Watford v Burnley

  • Watford have lost just once in their last 7 matches in the EPL
  • Burnley have managed just 1 away win from their last 7 outings
  • Burnley have failed to score in 6 of their 11 away matches to date

Burnley Prediction

Burnley manager Sean Dyche is starting to bring the good times back to Turf Moor in recent weeks as his side have now won their last four league matches on the trot in all competitions with much needed league wins over West Ham, Huddersfield Town and Fulham being accompanied by a 3rd round FA Cup win over Barnsley.

This recent flurry of wins have seen Burnley lift themselves out of the bottom three and they now sit in the relative comfort of 15th place and three points above the relegation zone ahead of their trip down to London this afternoon.

The fact remains though that Burnley have performed badly on their travels so far this season which is reflected by their poor away record of 2-2-7 9/22, which includes just one win from their last seven matches on the road.

In addition, scoring goals away from Turf Moor has been a bit of a problem as the visitors have failed to score in 6 of their 11 away matches to date.

Betting Tips Verdict

Watford should just about edge this one but it may be tighter than a lot of people think
