Vladimir Ivic has made a decent start to life at Vicarage Road. Can Watford secure a sixth EFL Championship victory of the season with three points against Mark Robins’ Coventry City on Saturday? These two are at different ends of the Championship table, as the Hornets are sitting pretty in fourth, while the Sky Blues are languishing in 21st. Watford are the clear favourites in this one. Check out the latest odds and predictions.

Watford Preview – Easy victory for Ivic’s Hornets?

Watford have been consistent so far, winning half of their ten league matches. Only Reading and Barnsley have beaten them so far, with both games ending 1-0. After last weekend’s disappointing defeat to the Tykes, the Hornets struck back with a 3-2 win over Stoke City in midweek, with Ismaila Sarr bagging the winner right at the end.

Watford are in fourth place at present, collecting 18 points from a possible 30. The Hertfordshire club are only four points behind leaders Reading. Having dropped down from the Premier League last season, Watford will be looking for an instant return to the top flight.

Vladimir Ivic’s side have hardly put a foot wrong at home, dropping just two points from five Championship matches at Vicarage Road. Having already sealed home wins over Middlesbrough, Luton Town, Blackburn Rovers and Stoke, can Watford add Coventry to that list on Saturday?

Coventry City Preview – Another defeat for the struggling Sky Blues?

Mark Robins’ Coventry City were promoted as champions from EFL League One last season. To no real surprise, the Sky Blues have found it tough going in the Championship up until now. City are in 21st position in the table, picking up a mere eight points from ten games.

Coventry recently claimed a superb 3-2 win over leaders Reading, but they head into Saturday’s game at Vicarage Road having lost three of their previous four. In fact, City have lost five of seven in the Championship.

Last time out, Robins’ troops were narrowly beaten by Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. This will be another stern test for the Midlands outfit, but can Coventry cause an upset in Hertfordshire?

Watford vs Coventry City Betting Advice

This will be the first league meeting between Watford and Coventry since the pair played out a 0-0 draw at Vicarage Road back in March 2012. Both games in the 2011-12 season ended in goalless draws.

Key Facts – Watford vs Coventry City Betting Tip

  • Watford are unbeaten at home so far, dropping just two points at Vicarage Road
  • Coventry have lost their last three away matches, scoring one and conceding six
