West midlands meet east when West Brom play host to Leicester City at The Hawthorns with the home side sitting in a creditable 8th place in the English top flight despite a string of recent defeats which has prevented them from improving upon their current league position.
The Baggies have lost their last three in the Premier League as they’ve suffered defeats to Watford away from home along with back-to-back home losses to Southampton and Liverpool, but they have a good chance to redeem themselves on Saturday afternoon when they play an out-of-sorts Leicester City outfit.
West Brom possess a home record of 9-2-6 27/20 and they’ve done enough this season to secure their place for another Premier League campaign next season. Look out for goalscoring midfielders Chadli and Morrison (5 goals apiece) as well as striker Rondon (7 goals).
Visitors Leicester City saw their fortunes immediately improve following the highly controversial sacking of former manager Claudio Ranieri, and as is often the case, results improved straight away as The Foxes strung together a five-match winning sequence.
However, the honeymoon period under new boss Craig Shakespeare appears to have worn off as his Leicester City side have now failed to win any of their last five matches overall in all competitions, including being dumped out of the Champions League by Atletico Madrid.
But let’s not forget Leicester’s achievements in both the Premier League and Champions League, and after all, they’re now probably ‘returning to the mean’ after reaching dizzying heights in their club history.
