Goals hard to come by at The Hawthorns in West Brom/Watford clash

WEST BROM v WATFORD

Football – England – Premier League Betting Tips

Following a promising start to their new Premier League season, West Brom’s recent results are in danger of undoing The Baggies’ earlier good work, but they have a chance of redemption at The Hawthorns with the visit of Watford on Saturday afternoon.

Okay, so it’s not cause for panic just yet, as West Brom have lost just twice so far this season, and these defeats were both recorded on their travels at Brighton and Arsenal, lest we forget their first away match of the season that ended with a 1-0 win at Burnley.

Back on home turf today, West Brom still remain unbeaten with a record of  1-2-0  2/1 and while the goals have hardly been flowing, the results have been solid enough with a 1-0 opening day win over Bournemouth, which has been followed with points against Stoke City and West Ham. It’s worth noting that 8 of their last 9 home matches have ended up under 2.5 goals.

Visitors Watford have emerged from out of the shadows of new-boys Huddersfield Town and their headlines to become one of the surprise packages of the Premier League so far this season as they currently occupy sixth place, level on points with Liverpool and Tottenham.

The Hornets are one of only four clubs to possess a 100% record away from home so far this season (Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham are the others), so they’re in very good company as they make their way to the west midlands this afternoon.

Despite being unable to win at their Vicarage Road, Watford have recorded three wins on the trot on the road at Bournemouth, Southampton and Swansea City, all of whom sit in the bottom half of the league, but more importantly, have all lost at least twice at home already this season.

West Brom should therefore provide a sterner test for Marco Silva’s boys who are expected to line up with a 4-2-3-1 formation, as are The Baggies.

As a result, I’m not expecting this to be a goal-fest by any means.
