West Brom vs Brentford Live Stats & Betting Odds

West Brom Preview – Will West Brom continue setting the pace at the top and make it 13 games unbeaten?

It may only be the final game before Christmas and there are another 23 matches to go after this one but West Brom are already looking good for a return to the Premier League. They currently lead the Championship by a couple of points but more importantly, are 12 clear of third placed Preston. Slaven Bilic was brought to the club with the sole objective of promotion and it could barely have been a more impressive first half of the season. The Baggies are unbeaten in their last 12 games and have won nine of those. They are the only team yet to lose at home and are the highest scorers in the division, by some distance too.

Their only loss so far came at the start of October when going down 1-0 to Leeds. The fact they now sit above that rival indicates just how strong and consistent they have been.

An obvious strength of this West Brom team is how they have been able to share goals around the squad. The 45 they have amassed in the league are not because of a prolific striker, as it was last season, but a collective effort. Five of the squad have scored five or more goals and with those threats it makes them such a potent attacking force.

Brentford Preview – Can Brentford solidify their position in the top six by upsetting the league leaders?

With some huge spenders in the division, Brentford deserve a lot of credit for continuing to be so competitive at the top end of the Championship. Their recruitment and developing of players is refreshing to see and they are one of many in with a chance of securing a playoff spot. The Bees are currently occupying one as they sit fourth but it’s such a tight race for four positions that there are bound to be a lot of twists and turns. Successive home wins against Cardiff and Fulham have been crucial getting them climbing the table. They are no slouches on the road either, though, with five wins in 11 matches. Interestingly, they have not drawn any of their away games to date which is an indication of their approach to games.

One of the stars of the Championship season so far is Brentford’s striker Ollie Watkins. He has scored 13 goals in 22 games putting him third in the scoring charts. He is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs but has been ably assisted by the likes of Brian Mbeumo and Josh Dasilva who have combined for 14 goals. Those three are going to be the biggest threat to West Brom tomorow.

Key-Facts – West Brom vs Brentford

  • West Brom are in sensational form at the moment with nine wins in their last 12 and unbeaten since the start of October
  • Brentford remain one of the most dangerous teams in the Championship and have moved up to fourth with three wins in their last four matches
  • The Baggies are the highest scorers in the league and have scored 10 more goals than the second best attack

West Brom vs Brentford Betting Advice

This has the makings of being a very entertaining game between two sides who play a really attractive football and who have goals all over the team. West Brom have been excellent for the majority of the campaign and are appearing to get stronger as the season progresses. Brentford are going to relish this opportunity though and with wins against the likes of Fulham, Derby and Swansea, are very good against teams who play a certain brand of football.
I think this game screams goals and the selection follows suit. Both teams possess huge firepower and have some of the best attackers in the league. Five of Brentford’s last seven away games have had at least three goals in them. The last eight games at the Hawthorns have also had three or more goals in them and the visiting teams have scored in each of them. Over 2.5 goals looks to be a nailed on bet in this one.
