It’s a London derby to close out the Premier League football on Saturday as Fulham look to follow up their first win of the season when facing West Ham.

West Ham Preview – Can West Ham find a win following a number of good recent performances?

Defeat at home to Newcastle on the opening day of the season was the worst possible start for West Ham and their manager David Moyes. A summer of discontent meant the club were under pressure to get off to a fast start – and that was certainly not it. The following week away to Arsenal was another defeat but it was also a much improved performance and a sign of what was to come.

Since then, West Ham have won two and drawn two with their next loss coming away to champions Liverpool last weekend – conceding the decisive goal in the closing minutes. Moyes will take heart from the performance but look for his team to bounce back here.

Excellent wins against Wolves and Leicester as well as a deserved point against Manchester City mean the Hammers are in very good form despite the defeat to Liverpool. And the mood around the club is much more positive than it’s been for a while.
The one concern for Moyes coming into the game is the absence of Michail Antonio. The striker has been excellent this season but went off injured last weekend and will be missing for this one and further games to come.

Fulham Preview – Are Fulham set to follow up their first victory of the campaign with another three points?

It was a long time coming but Fulham eventually won their first Premier League game of the season thanks to a 2-0 win at home to West Brom on Monday. There’s no doubting how much relief it will bring Scott Parker but he also knows it’s just one game. The significance wont be lost on anyone that it’s also against another promoted team and one who are still looking for their own first three points.

The win does take Fulham out the bottom three and that’s the challenge for them now – attempting to stay above it.

It’s safe to assume on the evidence we’ve seen so far that Fulham will be involved in the relegation battle and in many ways that is a success for them as it will mean they’re at least competitive and not cast adrift.

Unsurprisingly it’s also the first clean sheet that Fulham have kept this season which is just as important as the win itself. They have been appalling defensively up until that point but the partnership of Tosin Adarabioyo and Joachim Andersen has given them a more solid foundation and they’ll be hoping to build on that heading into this one.

West Ham vs Fulham Betting Advice

At the start of this season it was thought that both West Ham and Fulham would be down the bottom in a relegation scrap. Although there’s only four points between them coming into this one, it’s unlikely that the Hammers will be worrying too much about the bottom three.

This fixture is also one they will be targeting for another win especially as it’s against a team whom they’ve won their last four against.

Key Facts – West Ham vs Fulham Betting Tip

  • West Ham lost their first game in five when conceding late away to Liverpool last weekend
  • Fulham won their first league game of the season at the seventh time of asking with victory over West Brom
  • The Hammers have the upper hand in this fixture winning the last four meetings with Fulham

Although the signs have been positive for West Ham of late they probably don’t have the points they deserve. Despite not having Antonio to call on I’m taking the Hammers to make it five in a row against the Cottagers.
