A-League Betting at Bet Victor

Western Sydney Prediction

Western Sydney were handed a third defeat in four matches last time out when they suffered a 2-1 loss at home to Melbourne Victory on Saturday which followed earlier defeats to Sydney and Melbourne City, and to make matters worse, all three of these losses were at their Spotless Stadium.

The hosts could be forgiven therefore for not looking forward to this encounter with Wellington Phoenix as the West Sydney outfit have posted a poor home record of 1-1-4 6/11 which also includes a loss to Newcastle Jets, and although they recorded a 2-0 win over Central Coast Mariners, this victory was against the rock bottom club of the A-League.

In addition, that win over The Mariners was Western Sydney’s only clean sheet on home turf this season, so they look to have their work cut out on Tuesday night to get any sort of result even though they’re at home.

Wellington Phoenix Prediction

Wellington Phoenix currently occupy the last remaining play-off spot ahead of this Tuesday night clash in Western Sydney and the visitors will be in a confident frame of mind for this clash as they’ve put together a solid six-match unbeaten run in the A-League.

Recent wins over Sydney (away) along with back-to-back home wins against Central Coast and Brisbane Roar have kept the New Zealand club in the frame for a top six finish, as well as picking up points on the road at Melbourne Victory and Adelaide United in 1-1 and 0-0 draws respectively.

Although they’ve managed just the one win on their travels so far this season which was the notable win at Sydney, The Phoenix have lost just once in their five away matches to date which was a 2-0 loss at 4th placed Melbourne City.

Wellington’s improvements have been helped by the addition of experienced former Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor as well as the goalscoring exploits of forward Krishna (5 goals) up front.

Betting Tips Verdict

Western Sydney can’t seem to take a trick at home at the moment and Wellington will fancy their chances of walking away with at least a point here.
