Wigan sit in 8th place and still remain unbeaten at home with a record of 3-1-0 8/5 having despatched Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham United and Hull City, but although they’re also unbeaten in their last eight on home turf, The Latics have kept just two clean sheets during this sequence.
Midfielder Powell and forward Grigg (3 goals apiece) are Wigan’s leading goalscorers.
Bristol City’s impressive four-match winning streak in the Championship came to an abrupt halt on Tuesday night when they lost 4-2 away at West Brom, but The Robins still occupy a spot in the play-off pack despite that reverse.
Previous wins over QPR and Swansea City (both away from home) along with home wins over Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield United have helped lift the west country outfit into an early top six spot again this season, but manager Lee Johnson will be keen that his side remain play-off contenders this time around.
With just two away wins from their last 16 outings it looks a tall order for Bristol City to get anything out of Wigan on Friday night, but the goal threats from forwards Weimann (5 goals) and Diedhiou (2 goals) could well see them at least score one goal here.
