Tuesday’s hosts are also unbeaten in their last four matches on home turf at their DW Stadium which includes an earlier 1-0 win over Millwall just before the season was put on hold, while their home record of 7-6-6 20/22 includes just one defeat out of their last six matches.
Stoke City Preview – Can Stoke respond?
Michael O’Neill’s Stoke City outfit suffered their first defeat in five matches on the weekend when they surprisingly lost 2-0 at home to fellow strugglers, Middlesbrough, which resulted in Stoke dropping down to 20th place and just one point above the relegation zone.
Stoke had previously seemed to be heading away from the relegation battle below them having registered important wins against Cardiff City and Hull City along with picking up crucial points in draws with Blackburn Rovers, Luton Town and Reading, but the defeat against Boro has thrust them back into the relegation mix.
It should be noted that both of Stoke’s aforementioned wins were both achieved on home turf at their Britannia Stadium while an away record of 4-4-11 21/32 includes failing to win any of their last five matches on their travels.
