A rampant Wolves outfit will be looking to chalk up a fifth straight win in the Championship on Saturday afternoon when they take on second from bottom club, Bolton Wanderers, at Molineux as they look to pull away at the top of the division this weekend.
Wolves currently hold a four point cushion at the top of the Championship over second placed Cardiff City following an impressive run of four straight wins over Norwich City, Fulham, Reading and Leeds United – the latter was a midweek 4-1 romp at Molieux.
The hosts have an impressive home record too which stands at 7-1-1 19/9 which includes having won their last five matches on the trot. Summer loanees midfielder Diogo Jota (8 goals) and forward Bonatini (10 goals) have been a revelation for the west midlands club who are on a high at the moment.
Visitors Bolton Wanderers still sit in a lowly second from bottom position in the Championship but there are signs that The Trotters are staging something of a revival in recent weeks as they’ve put together a solid seven match unbeaten run which includes wins over Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich City.
However, Bolton have been involved in five draws within this seven match sequence, and although they look like they’ve picked up their game in recent times, they’ll need to perform above their current level in order to match Wolves goal for goal – and with an away record of 0-5-4 5/14 doesn’t look strong enough for them to achieve this.
Goals have been few and far between on the road and they’ve failed to score on six occasions on their travels already. Throw in the fact that they’re without an away win from a staggering 34 matches at this level, and you can see why I’m picking Wolves here.
