This weekend’s Premier League action wraps up on Monday night when Wolves play host to Newcastle United as the betting tips continue in the top flight at Molineux with the hosts going in search of a fourth league win on the bounce.

Wolves Prediction

Surprise package, Wolves, have emerged as the ‘best of the rest’ outside the top six as Nuno Espirito Santos’s side sit in 7th place and a point ahead of Watford prior to tonight’s Monday night clash against Newcastle United.

Three recent wins on the trot in the Premier League have lifted Wolves up into 7th spot and although they’re highly unlikely to feature in either of the European competitions next season as they’re 12 points adrift of 5th placed Arsenal, the west midlands club have enjoyed a successful return to the top flight.

Wins against Leicester City, West Ham and Everton weren’t easy matches on paper but it’s a testament to Santos’s side that they won all three, scoring 10 goals in total and conceding just 3 in reply.

Wolves also possess a reasonable home record that stands at 6-2-5 19/18 which includes winning four of their last six at Molineux that includes a 2-1 win over Chelsea.

Key-Facts – Wolves v Newcastle United

  • Wolves have won their last 3 league matches on the trot in the EPL
  • Wolves have won 4 of their last 6 at Molineux
  • Newcastle have lost three of their last four away from home

Newcastle United Prediction

Newcastle United were edged closer to the relegation zone following wins for the teams that were below The Magpies over the weekend, leaving Newcastle United teetering on the edge of the bottom three.

Both Cardiff City and Burnley grabbed wins away from home on Saturday and now Newcastle make the difficult trip to Molineux where Rafa Benitez’s side will look to avoid defeat at all cost in order to keep their heads above water and Southampton who they are now level on 24 points with.

Newcastle have recorded recent back-to-back wins against Cardiff City and Manchester City in 3-0 and 2-1 wins, but both of these much needed wins were registered at St James’s Park, while results away from home have been shaky to say the least.

An away record of 2-5-5 9/15 includes three defeats from their last four on their travels with losses at Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham, all tough fixtures granted, but a lack of goals has really hampered The Magpies on the road this season.

Newcastle have failed to score in 5 of their 12 away matches to date, but even if this match turns into a shoot-out, I fancy Wolves to come out on top here.

Betting Tips Verdict

Wolves are on a high at the moment and playing some attractive football, but while Benitez will set his side up to avoid defeat here, I do wonder if there’s a Plan B if they fall behind.
