League leaders, Wolves, have opened up a comfortable looking ten-point gap at the top of the Championship ahead of Saturday afternoon’s encounter with Nottingham Forest at Molineux, as the home side look to be closing in on automatic promotion back to the Premier League.
Wolves are unbeaten in their last 13 league matches and it looks like being a hard task for any team to take all three points off them at this stage of the season, while their form at home has been most impressive indeed, with a home record of 10-2-1 28/10 to their name.
Only Cardiff City have walked away from Molineux with all three points in the bag, which was way back in August, but since then, Wolves haven’t looked back as they’ve won 9 of their last 11 on home turf. Bonatini (12 goals) and Diego Jota (11 goals) have looked a class above the rest of the Championship.
Nottingham Forest recently parted ways with former manager, Mark Warburton who has been replaced with former Middlesbrough boss, Karanka, but early signs suggest that this could be a long second half of the season for Forest who lost 1-0 at home to Aston Villa in Karanka’s first league game in charge.
It’s now six matches without a win in the Championship for Nottingham Forest who have suffered defeats to Bristol City, Sheffield Wednesday, Sunderland and Aston Villa, along with failing to score in each of their last four matches in the Championship.
The story doesn’t get any better away from home either as they’re without a win from their last six on their travels too amidst an overall record of 3-2-8 16/25, and they look to be up against at Wolves today too.
