Zenit Preview – Can Zenit secure another win?

Zenit have won four of their last five matches in the Russian top flight and the hosts will be eyeing off another three points on Friday night when they play host to Rostov at their Saint-Petersburg Stadium.

Recent victories over Spartak Moscow 7-1, Dinamo Moscow 4-1, Nizhny Novgorod 5-1 and a 2-0 win against CSKA Moscow have shown that Zenit mean business as they look to further extend their lead at the top of the Premier League.

The hosts currently hold a four-point cushion over 2nd placed Dinamo Moscow but having scored a total of 18 goals in their last five matches overall, Zenit will be in confident mood here.

 

 

Rostov Preview – Can Rostov bounce back?

Rostov were handed a 2-0 defeat away from home at Akhmat Grozny last time out in the Russian top flight and they’re on the road again on Friday night but this time, up against the league leaders, Zenit, in what looks like being an extremely tough outing.

With just three league wins from their previous 11 matches in the Premier League, Rostov look to have their work cut out on Friday night, especially as two of these three wins were actually achieved on home soil at their Rostov Arena.
