Betting markets and odds quality 9/10

Sky Bet pack a great punch when it comes to odds. They are always very competitive alongside the other major players in the industry and can generally be trusted to deliver a bang for your buck. They run decent bookmaker margins as well, which makes them punter-friendly too with an average of 5% on the major sporting markets. You are able to see Sky Bet leading the way with market prices, it's not uncommon to see them offering the industry best price on a given event, say a particularly team to win a soccer match.

So they give a lot and they really deliver in this area. The market coverage in their sportsbook is what you would expect it to be. Very good. At a glance it doesn't necessarily look like the biggest sports book in the world, but when you start digging around you can see how much they really deliver. The layout of the sportsbook is great by the way and usually you don't have to browse much at all, you can get to the popular markets through quick links and a stack of markets right there on the home page so you are kept well in touch. There is a big horse racing section on the site and quite a big focus on that.

One thing that Sky Bet do actually do a lot of, is offering price boost around different sports. You can generally land on a particular sport and immediately see a price boost on offer to get a little extra value for your money without doing anything really. Overall, there is a strong market coverage and wherever you look, they appear to be on point and highly competitive with their prices as well.

In-play betting 8/10

There is a very good live in-play betting service at online betting site Sky Bet. You will see some of the current live options available on the landing page at Sky Bet. From there you can go and see a current event and all of its markets to get to the meat of the event. The live in play betting at Sky Bet is very straightforward and simple. There's no big flashy graphics or anything going on, you get the score and the list of markets and that's pretty much it. On football matches you get stats as you go along, like possession, to help you out, but this doesn't run on all sports.

The market options though are great because there are so many of them on a given event. For football and tennis matches in particularly when we tested them, we found a high number of active markets on events. The prices are super competitive as well there and all in all it rounds out to a great product overall. The number of sports covered is great, the prices are strong and you have good market depth as well. On top of that, Sky Bet do run a cash out option on live betting as well.

Extras & features 8/10

There are good little features all over the Sky Bet site particularly through their stats which backs up horse racing and football very well. You can find these links right next to the market listing on the site. The bookmaker does also offer the Best Odds Guaranteed on all UK and Irish horse racing and you can also dip into some free betting tips as well on the site. There are virtual sports to enjoy on the site as well.

But their big, big features come through their special products that they roll out like their Super 6 Product. Every week they run this promotion where you have to go and predict the correct score from the 6 matches that they have selected for the current round. Then you wait and see if you can land the jackpot by getting all six scores right. If the jackpot isn't won then they will pay out the highest scoring the sum of £5000 for the week. The weekly entries have to be in by 3pm on a Saturday and this is a free promotion to jump into, no wagering required.

Sky Bet also run Fantasy Football and Fantasy Six-a-Side products as well and there is a Channel 4 Pick 6 game to enjoy. This is just like the football version where you select one horse from each of the six listed races in the weekly promotional (and submit a tie break question) and you get the jackpot if you get them all, a bit like the national Tote really. These are great extra features to enjoy along with the standard fare like live scores, calculator and horse racing form. There is a cash out option available throughout the site.

There is a Bet and Watch option on horse racing. Place a bet on the day of the race and you will in turn, be eligible to go and watch a livestream of that race!

User-friendliness of website & mobile app / mobile version 9/10

The website is really clean and it is easy to get around and jump from different sections. It all operates quickly as well and it never at any point seems to get cluttered or overwhelming. It is all backed up by a very good betting slip as well where you can customise your bets. They do run over mobile and tablets as well and you get the clean feel of the website on those versions as well, allowing for some very good, quick betting while out on the go. It is worth dropping into the mobile app called the Sky Bet tracker which is the new home of Cash Out options on the mobile version which has built in football stats and everything.

Skybet Customer Service & Support, Security & Reliability 9/10

You have a pretty decent FAQ base to browse through if you want some answers from them. Alternatively you have several options to contact them as well, be it through their telephone line at 0330 024 4777 which is open from 8 am until Midnight seven days a week. You can launch a live chat console on the website or shoot them off an email if preferred.

Overall / Conclusion 9/10

This is an award winning service and while a lot of the stuff on there comes across as underrated, it is a very, very good service. The operation of the site is very clean and it is so quick and easy to get around markets and strike your bets, especially on the mobile app, it comes together very well. They are strong on their market prices and market variety as well and this all adds up to a superb product.
