Khaloosy is the 15/8 Fav in Superior Mile Stakes Odds

What a runner KHALOOSY is looking like. On his renewal, he stormed to a powerful win at Royal Ascot in Britannia. That really was an outstanding run from him against some solid rivals.

He didn’t follow up with a win at Goodwood but had excuses there in going up to this level for the first time.

He will be better for the experience and is bringing some very strong claims to the table in this one as the favourite. Khaloosy needs to be respected.

STORMY ANTARCTIC
9/2

Top Rank could show at this level

TOP RANK is a good progressive runner and he strolled to a win at Thirsk on his reappearance run this season.

He followed that up with a place finish at York, but never looked as good as he did in getting that Thirsk win.

He wasn’t disgraced last time out there and he has been lightly raced.

There’s a chance that he is going to get into the frame and goes as a 6/1 punt for this contest* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 11:12 GMT on Friday, 4th September)

My Oberon can be a big player

MY OBERON got off the mark at the second time of asking, having delivered in a novice effort at York. That was a clear progression from a good debut.

He was well in the mix for a win at Goodwood in the following Group 3 contest.

He’s not exposed by a very exciting pick from 4/1* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 11:12 GMT on Friday, 4th September).

Stormy Antarctic poses a threat

STORMY ANTARCTIC only found one better on his last effort which was in the Group 1 Prix d’Ispahan in July.

That was a major return to top form from him and that has to pique interest for Saturday’s run at Haydock.

He did finish behind MY OBERON at Goodwood in a Group 3 contest before that, so those two look evenly matched as some serious players in what is a fantastic Superior Mile Stakes field.

Stormy Antarctic is a 9/2 option* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 11:12 GMT on Friday, 4th September).

The rest of the runners

DARK VISION has shown a lot more promise in building his career as a four-year-old. The one concern will be a poor shift at York last time out in a similar contest, where he just never looked right and would probably prefer the firmer ground.

GRAIGNES has not performed for his new yard recall, not having produced anything special at all in three runs. It would take something very special for him to get this.

QAYSAR scored a good course and distance new in July and he has Ryan Moore in the saddle. He has been a decent enough handicapper but has found his recent mark a little too tough to handle and was behind Top Rank in a recent York effort.

KINROSS scored on his debut last autumn, that win happening at Newmarket. He has been thrown into a few Group 1 contests since without any kind of return. It’s all caught up with him as he has been dropped down in class now.

Predictions & Tips for Superior Mile Stakes Racing Odds

What a cracking renewal this is going to be. Our pick is going to be STORMY ANTARCTIC who went very well in Group 1 at Chantilly in July.

That’s some proven form there and as he is coign down in class, Ed Walker’s gelding has to be in with a shot from 9/2* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 11:12 GMT on Friday, 4th September).

We think that TOP RANK is worth a look at this level. He’s unexpected but looks a very promising runner and only just had his winning streak snapped. He should be right in the zone in this sphere.

Our final pick to watch for this contest is MY OBERON who ran an absolutely cracking race to get a recent win at York. He likely would have another if he hadn’t run into trouble at Goodwood following that in a Group 3 effort.
