Boccaccio is the front-runner in King Charles II Stakes Odds

It has been a perfect start to his career for BOCCACCIO. It has been three wins from three racetrack appearances.

The first couple came in his juvenile campaign, successes at Yarmouth and Kempton. Then on a return after a 213 day break absence, he struck again.

Boccaccio won at Newmarket in a 7f contest at the end of June. It was a victory by a short head against Gifted Ruler that the Charlie Appleby-trained Colt collected.

He is a specialist at the 7f distance and in this one he is going to be coming up against some high-quality sprinters who are coming up in trip. Can Boccaccio hold his own?

Ventura Reel can mount a challenge

There should be claims from VENTURA REEL in King Charles II Stakes odds from 9/2* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 04:30 GMT on Saturday, 18th July 2020).

He won his first two racetrack appearances last year. As a three year old he stepped out in early June and ran well at Newcastle, taking 6th place in a field of 13 on a 6f trip.

Ventura Reel was then thrown in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup race at Royal Ascot and he was a 50/1 SP there.

Ventura Reel performed well at Royal Ascot which raises his claims for this one, as he took third place behind winner Golden Horde.

Can Symbolize take a good step forward?

SYMBOLIZE scored a debut win last year and was making steady if unspectacular progress as a juvenile.

However, on his reappearance he was thrown in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot and defied some big 40/1 odds to take third place behind winner Molatham.

Notably that was a 7f trip that he stayed on very well in, so he has a big chance of featuring.

Can Royal Commando find more on step up to 7f?

ROYAL COMMANDO was fourth in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot behind third-placed Ventura Rebel.

He broke his maiden at the second attempt and that effort at Ascot was after a long break.

If he can take that form on forward now taking on an extra furlong, he has claims if he can stay on.

Royal Commando is a 5/1 quote in King Charles II Stakes Odds* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 04:30 GMT on Saturday, 18th July 2020).

Surf Dancer not to be dismissed

SURF DANCER is coming back down in trip and that could make him a contender in this field. He does have Ryan Moore on his back.

Surf Dancer won twice at 7f last year and has been pretty handy under handicap terms as a three-year-old.

He looked as if he found a 1m effort at Newmarket last time out too much for hi.

So chopping off a furlong could Surf Dancer bring e/w claims from 14/1* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 04:30 GMT on Saturday, 18th July 2020).

Rest of the runners

ADDITIONAL is probably going to have to find plenty more to get up to speed in this one. He looked out of shape in some Listed company at Deauville 7 days ago.

LINCOLN BRIGHT is well bred but this race looks too much too soon for him. It’s just his third racetrack appearance. He did take a good second in a 7f effort at Newmarket in a novice event recently.

MAYSTAR has had plenty of runs under his belt as a three year old. He claimed third at Windsor last time out at the end of June. Doesn’t look to be kicking on.

STORMY GIRL won a novice at Carlisle last year for her previous yard. The trip may be in question here, but on a recent 7f effort at Haydock she was well in the picture a furlong out, but then faded to 4th.

Predictions & Tips for King Charles II Stakes Racing Odds

This looks to be a really good fixture. We can’t look past the challenge of BOCCACCIO in King Charles II Stakes odds from 13/8* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 04:30 GMT on Saturday, 18th July 2020).

He is primed for the 7f trip and can see off contenders who are going to be trying to settle into that trip.

As for the other ones to touch on for this effort, VENTURA REBEL has a big chance of featuring and it therefore makes sense to look at ROYAL COMMANDO too after their respective efforts in the Commonwealth Cup.
