There is a clear leader in Ripon racing odds for this one and that is Dark Jedi who is perhaps shaping up to be the one to beat.

Dark Jedi 5/2 favourite in Ripon racing odds

DARK JEDI will be coming into this Ripon action with some form behind him.

He eased to a handicap success at Hamilton 10 days ago and he really didn’t even need to find much improvement to get the job done there.

Dark Jedi had plenty to spare and looked comfortable winning the 9f contest. He will of course take on a penalty for that one and that is a 5lb rise.

Still, he looked more than sharp enough to handle that for this race. It looks much more of a stiff contest than his last run was.

This will be his third race after a recent appearance and looks to be the one to beat in this contest.

Dark Jedi lines up as the current 5/2 favourite*(betting odds taken from Coral at 20:17 GMT on Tuesday 7th July 2020).

Benadalid looks for aback to back scores

Another one that won on his previous effort was BENADALID. After a poor showing in a reappearance, looking like he needed a run out, he came good over course and distance 18 days ago.

That was easily his career best in taking the win from a field of 11. The fact that it was at course and distance is well worth noting. More so because that was the second for him.

Even though he gets slapped with a 4lb penalty for his one, he is going to warrant some respect for the contest at a current 4/1 mark *(betting odds taken from Coral at 20:17 GMT on Tuesday 7th July 2020).

More to come from Sameem

Last summer Sameem was really putting things together well, winning back to back contests at Ripon and Hamilton. He has been fairly consistent since.

He made an appearance at the start of June where he was a long way down the field. Despite being the second favourite for that one, he was well below his best and shouldn’t necessarily be deserted from that contest’s effort.

Sameem is back in the position of being a second favourite as he is a current 13/2 option in Ripon racing odds for Wednesday*(betting odds taken from Coral at 20:17 GMT on Tuesday 7th July 2020).

Can Nicklaus build on decent Royal Ascot showing?

NICKLAUS was last seen at Royal Ascot when he put in a decent enough showing to finish in the middle of the pack of 22. That last effort was a 1m distance.

There have been four wins from 6f to 1m from Nicklaus who has been over this further trip before. He held well in that one as well.

The challenge of finding enough at Class 3 could be there as he has placed once from five previous efforts at 3 and above.

He is one to watch in the market regardless, from a 4/1 option in Ripon racing odds*(betting odds taken from Coral at 20:17 GMT on Tuesday 7th July 2020).

Mulligatawny has claims

It has been back to back third place finishes from MULLIGATAWNY so he isn’t in bad shape. He was last seen at Hamilton 10 days ago when he was within three lengths of winner Dark Jedi.

It was a good run from Mulligatawny which certainly gives him some place claims in this one at 8/1*(betting odds taken from Coral at 20:17 GMT on Tuesday 7th July 2020).

He looks as if he is going to need to find more to actually pull off the win against some stiff opposition here, but may be able to battle and scrap for a place in the money.

Rest of the Runners

STAR OF SOUTHWOLD secured a 5th of 9 on his last run, which was a 10f tri at Ayr just over a couple of weeks ago. He will have the cheek pieces on for the first time and needs to show more than what he has recently done.

HESSLEWOOD had a good reappearance taking second place finishing and then did well to get 5th of 13 at Redcar 11 days ago. He looks as if he could bring some outsider claims to the table for the places at least.

ARCTIC FOX will round out the preview and his reappearance saw him scrap to 8th of 12 at Newcastle in a poor effort from 50/1. He didn’t look a threat then at all and likely won’t be back on the turf.

Predictions & Tips for Ripon Racing Odds

We are going straight to the head of the market for this one and looking at DARK JEDI to do enough to see off a 5lb penalty.

He was in fine fettle on his last trip to get his score and should be comfortable here even against some slightly stiffer opposition.

We also like the look of BENADALID to come to the fore with a bold challenge in the contest and because of some good course and distance history, MULLIGATAWNY also brings appeal.
