14:25 Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle Odds & Tips: William Hill offer 4/1 on Ask A Honey Bee – 12th December 2020

Ashdown Lad the hot ticket at Cheltenham on Saturday?

Horse Racing Betting

We have another big feature race coming from Cheltenham on Saturday from a cracking card.

This is the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle (registered as The Bristol Novices’ Hurdle) and it is a Grade 2 fixture.

The race is open to 4 year olds and above and we have a field of 8 declared runners to dig through for horse racing betting.

It’s a 3 mile trip around Cheltenham for the runners.

Last year’s winner was 5 year old REDFORD ROAD who scored from a nice 14/1 SP (Jamie Bargary / N A Twiston-Davies).

Heading up the market for this year’s renewal is ASHTOWN LAD at 11/2* (betting odds recorded at 19:24 GMT at William Hill on 12/11/20).

Ashtown Lad the 11/4 favourite for Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle

There is no arguing with the form or the threat of ASHTOWN LAD who is the 11/4 favourite for this race* (betting odds recorded at 19:24 GMT at William Hill on 12/11/20).

He will be looking to secure a hattrick when he steps into play on Saturday.

The form of Ashtown Lad over the hurdles has been growing fast. He hasn’t put a foot wrong this season. He opened the season with a runner up place and then took a win at Wetherby.

On his latest run Ashtown Lad took a win as the 9/4 FAV at Uttoxeter on a 2m 7f trip last month. He got the score by 8 lengths as well.

There should be plenty of further improvement to come from him at 3m and Ashtown Lad is a definite contender.

Danny Kirwan hitting form at the right time

DANNY KIRWAN could really benefit from the step up in distance here and there is plenty more to come from him.

He recently ended his long winless streak that had stretched back to early 2018. That was achieved on an Ascot run three weeks ago.

This is a much stiffer test that he will be facing in this one, but it does look to be within his scope.

That Ascot success should have sharpened him up even further and Danny Kirwan is an interesting player from 4/1* (betting odds recorded at 19:24 GMT at William Hill on 12/11/20).

Ask A Honey Bee is buzzing at the moment

Another that is bringing some very good seasonal form to the table is ASK A HONEY BEE.

He kicked things off with a win at Wetherby on his reappearance/hurdle debut.

So that was a fantastic step forward from him and he followed it with a couple of more credible runs.

Ask A Honey Bee has taken second-place finishes in his last two runs. He is one to keep on side for this one despite slightly missing a beat in not winning a Newcastle novice on his last trip.

We like the direction he’s going and looks strong for the distance. Ask A Honey Bee is a 4/1 option* (betting odds recorded at 19:24 GMT at William Hill on 12/11/20).

Took The Lot bringing top form to the table

There is a big threat to come from TOOK THE LOT we feel as well.

The bumper winner always looked as if he was going to be a good hurdler and he’s shown that so far. He claimed a couple of novice wins at Bangor.

They were facile successes as well and given that he is preparing for last year’s winning trainer of Nigel Twiston-Davies, we think Took The Lot rates highly for this.

There’s great potential there and even though he is making a big step up in grade, he’s open to enough improvement to feature from 8/1* (betting odds recorded at 19:24 GMT at William Hill on 12/11/20).

Rest Of The Runners

MAKE GOOD has been ticking over in nice form and he has the stamina in him to handle this 3m trip without question.

He scored a win on his last race, his handicap hurdle debut at Gowan and made it all. He’s not without a shout.

PATS FANCY is another that enters on the back of a win. That was on his hurdles debut at Ffos Las in November.

The longer trip looks like an appealing option for him in terms of progress. There’s definitely been progress from him.

PROMISING MILAN is completely unexposed and comes into his rules debut here.

He only made his racetrack debut in November when he won a point at Damma House. He’s with a new yard for this and it’s a tall order.

WYNN HOUSE has scored two wins from two for Alan King this season. Her latest success happened at Ludlow as the odds-on favourite in October.

But that success didn’t come all that easy and we think she has too much to find in this company.

Predictions & Tips for Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle Racing Odds

Another of the day’s great races from Cheltenham. Our first selection of the list is going to be ASK A HONEY BEE at 4/1* (betting odds recorded at 19:24 GMT at William Hill on 12/11/20).

We like the potential that he seems to have on-side and think that he is going to thrive in a stronger field than his recent novices efforts.

Another selection is going to be TOOK THE LOT who comes from a yard which has a great record in this fixture.

With rapidly improving form over the fences as well, we see a bold effort getting him close at Cheltenham on Saturday.

The final selection for the race is going to have to be ASHTOWN LAD who secured a great handicap debut win at Uttoxeter just three weeks ago. That’s some hot form put down and he could well be the one to beat.
