Frankly Darling the one to catch in Fillies’ Stakes

Trainer John Gosden, who already boasts a really good return from this race, could be scoring again with FRANKLY DARLING in the picture. This is a classy filly. She made her return at Newcastle in early June and soared away to take a win by a margin of 5 lengths in a field of 12.

It was a massively powerful run in what was a 10F trip and she is shaping up to be something special. That was her second racetrack appearance after taking second place on her debut at Yarmouth in October.

Stacks of appeal, massive claims and she looks to have the edge over this field as the 6/4 favourite* (betting odds taken from Betfair at 22:41 GMT on Monday, June 15th 2020)

MISS YODA

MISS YODA will have claims in this Stakes effort after landing the Linfield Oaks Trials. She had Golden Lips behind her in that contest and it showed more progressive form.

This is another promising filly and that Lingfield success was in early June after a 237 day break.

It was notably as well, her third win in four racetrack appearance, scoring a second in the other one. The distance shouldn’t be a problem for her and can get in the frame at 11/2* (betting odds taken from Betfair at 22:41 GMT on Monday, June 15th 2020).

TREFOIL

TREFOIL, stablemate of Frankly Darling, broke her maiden at the first attempt, which was at Newmarket back in October. She has had a recent run, a good third place in a field of eight back at the same venue.

That was after a long break, so it should be even better for this contest. One to keep on side and she is being highly respected in the betting market as the 11/2 second-favourite* (betting odds taken from Betfair at 22:41 GMT on Monday, June 15th 2020).

ENNISTYMON

Bringing in some winning form is ENNISTYMON. She scored as recently as June 9th when she came through a field of 15 to claim the win at Leopardstown. That was in maiden company and she battled it out by a head.

It was a good progressive step forward for her at 10f and brings some claims to push on ever further after that recent run. EEnnistymon goes at a current 8/1* (betting odds taken from Betfair at 22:41 GMT on Monday, June 15th 2020).

HOLD FAST

Another recent winner is HOLD FAST. She got the first score of her career when she was out at 10 furlong effort at Kempton in maiden company. She landed the win by half a length in what was her third racetrack appearance.

Hold Fast has, notably produced better on each of her runs and is one to keep a market check on even if it is as a 16/1 e/w option* (betting odds taken from Betfair at 22:41 GMT on Monday, June 15th 2020).

Other contenders

BHARANI was involved in a dead heat for first when she showed up in a Haydock handicap recently. She is a Sea The Stars filly just like Miss Yoda, incidentally. That was a much improved run that she had at HEnaydock and was at this distance.

GOLDEN LIPS looks to be a useful filly and claimed second in the Oaks Trial at Lingfield. She outran her massive 66/1 odds on that effort and therefore does have to be respected. She has two wins and a second place in her last four trips.

Looking for a progressive run will be SO I TOLD You are claiming fifth in the Lingfield Oaks Trial behind Miss Yoda recently. It wasn’t a bad effort on a return to action and should be sharper, but still with perhaps a little too much to find.

Predictions & Tips

Trainer John Gosden won this 12-months ago with Star Catcher. He is likely to score again because of FRANKLY DARLING lining up in this one. She is the one to beat and we can’t find reason enough to oppose her.

She looks a very high-class filly and we would be more than happy to trust her. The others that could feature in this one is her stablemate MISS YODA who is easily the pick of the bunch behind the favorite.

ENNISTYMON as well may show up well as she is in some very nice progressive form and brings serious place claims.
