Aye Right could be the one to shine in the Ultima at Cheltenham 2021

Horse Racing Betting

Happygolucky the 3/1 FAV for Ultima Handicap Chase betting

HAPPYGOLUCKY will be aiming to continue his good strong form for the season under trainer Kim Bailey.

He heads the Ultima Handicap Chase betting field as the 10/3 favourite* (betting odds record at 22:30 GMT on March 15th, 2021 at Coral).

The useful hurdler opened the season with a win over the fences. He then followed that up with a novice chase success here at Cheltenham three months ago.

That’s two wins from three goes over the hurdles this season. There is still plenty of potential on side for him yet.

That all-important course form is a big factor for him and the novice chaser won that very well too.

Happy Go Lucky comes in at a very fair handicap of 147 and should be right there in the mix.

AYE RIGHT
11/2

Aye Right could be the way to go in the Ultima

Another that is bringing a big challenge to the table is AYE RIGHT who is an 11/2 option in Cheltenham Ultima betting* (betting odds record at 22:30 GMT on March 15th, 2021 at Coral).

He has shown great temperament in knocking around big-field handicaps this season.

He is also one of the most consistent performers lining up in this one on Tuesday at the Cheltenham Festival.

On his latest run, Aye Right claimed a very good second place finish in the Sky Bet at Doncaster over a 3m distance back in January.

Notable runs from him this season including a second at Newbury behind CLOTH CAP who is this year’s Grand National favourite and his third place finish at the Charlie Hall which was won by the superb Cyrname.

Aye Right is a very good, versatile horse.

He also looks to be as tough as nails, so he could well dight this one out.

The booking of Richard Johson is a huge boon as well.

Milan Native one to consider for success

MILAN NATIVE had a taste of Cheltenham Festival success last year in claiming the Kim Muir.

He will be in action for the first time since wind surgery and will be on a yard debut as well.

He really came into his own with the extra trip asked of him in the Kim Muir twelve months ago.

Although the results haven’t been there lately, he has been shaping up fairly well.

Milan Native opened the season with a win at Galway on his reappearance.

But he was well down the field on his latest run which was in December on a 3m trip at Leopardstown.

The new stable and op could have perked him up a bit and there are reasonable claims for a place from the former Cheltenham winner.

Milan Native enters as a 7/1 option in Ultima Handicap Chase betting* (betting odds record at 22:30 GMT on March 15th, 2021 at Coral).

Return to handicapping to favour One For The Team?

ONE FOR THE TEAM could pique some interest at 7/1 in Ultima Handicap Chase betting at the 2021 Cheltenham Festival* (betting odds record at 22:30 GMT on March 15th, 2021 at Coral).

He is making the move back to handicapping after having found life a little too tough for him up at Grade 1 this season.

Earlier this season he produced a nice second-place finish in a Grade 2 at Newbury.

Then he was pushed on a little further as he lined up in the Grade 1 Kauto Star Novices’ Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day.

That was far too hot for One For The Team. He then returned to action with a credible 5th in a field of 11 at Doncaster the Listed Sky Bet Handicap Chase.

He is a good stayer and has claimed a 3m success at Newbury before in his career and his yard claimed the race win back in 2018 as well.

Can Alnadam get himself in the picture?

ALNADAM has picked up two wins in his last three efforts for Dan Skelton. So there has been a nice bit of consistency from him.

Connections would probably be hoping for a little bit of rain to help him out in this one.

But even from 9/1 in the main chasing pack, Alnadam poses a threat* (betting odds record at 22:30 GMT on March 15th, 2021 at Coral).

He is coming up on a trip now and is unexposed. But he does look to have taken nicely to the fences this season, the latest of his wins coming at Sandown on a 20f trip last month.

So there are place claims there for Alnadam but at the same time, there is a clear need for him to find a little improvement up at this 3m trip.

Others To Note

We haven’t touched on CEPAGE in this one because he is coming in at top weight and that looks like it is going to ask a big deal of him.

Cepage looked stretched by this trip last year in the Ultima and while he won his penultimate fixture of this campaign at Chepstow, we think he comes undone.

PYM was nicely back on track to open the season with a victory at Sandown on his reappearance.

That was a score in a handicap race. But the follow up to that Newcastle was thoroughly disappointing, however.

ADMIRAL’S SECRET took a win at Ludlow on his reappearance run. He has now taken on this extra trip after picking up a good third-place finish at Warwick on a 2m 4f trip last time out. This distance is uncharted territory.

The other that we will just put on the radar is DISCORDANTLY who does have some jumping issues.

But it would be interesting to see what he can do if he could put it all together. That’s because he opened the season with a career-best at Galway.

Predictions & Tips for Ultima Handicap Chase Betting Odds

We are siding with the chances of AYE RIGHT in Ultima Handicap Chase betting at 11/2* (betting odds record at 22:30 GMT on March 15th, 2021 at Coral).

He has just impressed with every run that he has had this season and the most notable one for us was his second in the Ladbroke at Newbury.

So he is the first of our picks for the contest.

HAPPY GO LUCKY can’t be dismissed either because he has the trending course form for a good Ultima challenge and is a novice.

But we think he just gets beaten out on the day.

The final name for the shortlist is going to be ONE FOR THE TEAM at 7/1* (betting odds record at 22:30 GMT on March 15th, 2021 at Coral).

He just piques a little interesting coming back into handicapping after a stern Grade 1 workout this season.
