Imperial Aura the 13/8 FAV for Carlisle Intermediate Chase (Listed) odds

IMPERIAL AURA is being well backed to take the score in this contest. He is the current market leader at 13/8* (betting odds taken from Ladbrokes at 22:46 GMT on Saturday, 31st October 2020).

Imperial Aura was coming on leaps and bounds last season in chase action. He will, therefore, be expected to come good on his reappearance run on Sunday.

Imperial Aura, trained by Kim Bailey, will have the tongue strap for the first time. In his last race, he scored a superb chase win at Cheltenham.

That was over this same 2m 4f distance when he took a commanding victory over Galvin by over three lengths. He has simply made rapid progress in this sphere now.

As a result of his upwards swing of form, the assessor has stuck him with a 14lb rise. That is how much of a threat he is.

But the 7 year old is going to benefit from a yard in form as he looks to track his progress further even more.

This will be the fifth trip over the fences for Imperial Aura.

can Brewin’upastorm shake up the favourite?

There is little wrong with the threat of BREWIN’UPASTORM in this contest. He was last seen at the 2020 Cheltenham Festival, when he unseated his jockey in the Arkle.

That is easily dismissed through and no reason to immediately throw support elsewhere.

Before that Cheltenham mishap, Brewin’upastorm was in great form prior to that. He had won back to back chase efforts and the first of those was here at Carlisle.

He followed that up with another excellent performance to score at Taunton. So that Cheltenham trip can be wiped out. There is still a stack of potential to come from him.

Supporters will be expecting a little bit better of a jumping performance from him as he goes from 11/4* (betting odds taken from Ladbrokes at 22:46 GMT on Saturday, 31st October 2020).

Black Op not to be taken lightly

Taking on some graded efforts last season, BLACK OP has to warrant some respect coming back to a Listed fixture. He is an intriguing one in the field. To start with he will have to shake off a big absence.

That’s because Black Op was last seen at Kempton on Boxing Day last year. So he stays low mileage but carries a decent threat. Even with that 10 month absence to deal with.

He has proven already that he is quite the smart chaser and finished off that last came with a runner up spot to Slate House in that Kempton fixture up at Grade 1.

So the slide down the grade and on a shorter trip for a repparance, does keep him in this. Black Op is at 10/3 odds* (betting odds taken from Ladbrokes at 22:46 GMT on Saturday, 31st October 2020).

Sam Brown worth another chance?

Another of the low mileage chasers who are lining up in this Carlisle Intermediate Chase (Listed) fixture is SAM BROWN. He was a beaten favourite on his last effort, as he pulled up in a Grade 2 Ascot. That was a disappointing result as he missed out on a hat-trick.

Before that, he had looked very good in his first two starts, notably showing a lot of finishing power to score at Haydock Grade 2 trip.

He was never in that subsequent Ascot trip, as he was struggling for form halfway through the 3m trip in February. Sam Brown will likely be happier back down at this trip and he’s well refreshed.

Sam Brown is an 11/2 player in this field* (betting odds taken from Ladbrokes at 22:46 GMT on Saturday, 31st October 2020).

Windsor Avenue to bounce back following surgery?

During the break that WINDSOR AVENUE has had, there has been a wind op for him. He started his chasing career well last season, backing back to back to wins.

Those were 20f successes at Sedgefield and then here at Carlisle.

He signed off the last campaign with a disappointing result as he fll at Haydock up in Grade 2 company. That was a fixture won by Sam Brown.

The chance of Windsor Avenue isn’t to be totally dismissed. But supporters would probably have preferred that he has ahead a reappearance already.

Ardlethen with a lot to find

Perceived in the market as the outsider in this contest is ARDLETHEN at 28/1* (betting odds taken from Ladbrokes at 22:46 GMT on Saturday, 31st October 2020).

Last season on his reappearance run he claimed a 3m novice win at Chepstow.

He was never quite able to follow that up though, but didn’t do too much wrong. He is coming back down in trip for this one.

The last time that he was in action was at Cheltenham in March when he was well out of the picture at 3m 2f.

Predictions & Tips for TRACK Racing Odds

There are some serious claims in this contest from a few players. We have to go straight to IMPERIAL AURA as it would be a shock if he wasn’t there or thereabouts.

He was developing well over the bigger stuff last season, we expect a good run from him.

BREWIN’UPASTORM is well worth revisiting despite a poor jumping performance leading to him unsetading his rider at the Arke.

That could just have been too much too soon. He’s a tidy chaser though and had form before that. He should enter calculations.

The other that we would take ac acne on for the shortlist is SAM BROWN. Something wasn’t right with him on a longer trip at Ascot on his last effort.

But an impressive Grade 2 win at Haydock before that showed what he is capable of.
