Returning champ Elarqam 9/4 FAV in York Stakes Odds
ELARQAM will no doubt pull in plenty of support for a return score at York in the York Stakes.
He is the current 9/4 favourite at least*(betting odds taken from William Hill at 22:00 GMT on Friday July 24th 2020).
The son of Frankel won a couple of listed events along with the York Stakes last season so developed into a top horse.
Elarqam made his return in the Brigadier Gerard (with Telecaster in second place) and then followed up with a Royal Ascot effort in the Hardwicke Stakes at a longer 1m 4f trip.
He should be comfortable back at this trip.
Telecaster a threat to the favourite
TELECASTER will be back up against Elarqam then in another engrossing contest. He returned to action with that third place effort at the Brigadier Gerard.
He was in the La Coupe at Longchamp following that and subsequently scored a good success there. That confirmed his form and he just streaked away for the Group 3 success.
There should be a strong challenge coming forth from Telecaster but will he be able to find enough to get the better of Elarqam?

Fox Chairman with some claims
FOX CHAIRMAN has steadily progressed in his career and a recent third place in a Sandown Listed race shows what he is capable of.
The Andrew Balding-trained Fox Chairman had a really good time of things last season and the 4 year old could bring claims to the table from 8/1 to at least get in the places* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 22:00 GMT on Friday July 24th 2020).

ASPETAR has won a couple of 12f trips before so is worth some attention. He had shaped well on his return to action at Sandown in a Listed race.

King Of Comedy can challenge with form boost

LORD GLITTERS is a previous course winner, but could find the going a little too tough among some very good company here. He did win the Queen Anne last year but he hasn’t been anywhere near that kind of form since then.
REGAL REALITY showed some promise with a third place in the Wolferton Stakes (Listed) at Royal Ascot. But then he was a long way short in the Eclipse at Sandown on his last run which is more of an indicator of where he is likely at. He was fourth in last year’s renewal.

Well we have to, of course, go straight to last year’s winner ELARQAM. He should be back in the frame and the drop in trip compared to the Hardwicke Stakes effort should see the best of him.
TELECASTER should also be there or thereabouts again as he opposes Elarqam. But we don’t see him quite having enough to get the better of the favourite but should easily be in the places.
So then it comes down to who we think can do enough to get in the top three as well, we like the strength that ASPETAR showed on his return to action at Sandown.
