We look at the Legacy Cup Stakes Racing Odds for Saturday from Newbury on the weekend, a big Group 3 fixture.

This is formerly The Arc Trial and for this year’s renewal, five declared runners are lining up.

The Legacy Cup is a 1m 3f trip for those involved and at the head of the market is the returning AL AASY who looks to be the one to beat.

We look at his chance as well as each of the other runners in Legacy Cup Stakes Racing Odds.

Al Aasy 8/11 FAV in Newbury Legacy Cup Stakes Racing Odds

AL AASY is the 8/11 favourite in the Legacy Cup Stakes racing odds for Saturday.

On paper, he’s going to be tough to beat* (odds recorded at 19:52 GMT on September 17th, 2021 at Coral).

It has been a tremendous 2021 for Willie Haggas’s gelding, who was last seen 72 days ago at Newmarket.

Al Aasy opened the season with back to back Group 3 wins, which were both here at Newbury so that’s big course form.

Following that, he took a second-place finish in the Coronation Cup and the Princess Of Wales’s at Newmarket in July.

That’s just been big form all the way from him. Al Aasy was only beaten by a neck in the Princess Of Wales’s by Sir Ron Priestley.

During his break, Al Aasy has been gelded and that could just deliver even more improvement from him.

Foxes Tales the big threat to the Favourite

FOXES TALES looks like a tremendous progressive prospect and delivered a victory on his latest effort.

That latest win was the Group 3 Rose Of Lancaster at Haydock and had moved up into Group company with relative ease.

There have been three wins in five runs by Foxes Tales this season.

This is a slightly longer trip for him, but it still fits his profile and the ground conditions look to be in his favour.

So Foxes Tales looks to be the big challenger to the favourite at a quote of 3/1* (odds recorded at 19:52 GMT on September 17th, 2021 at Coral).

Foxes Tales has just looked better and better with each run this season. Another bold effort is expected from the 3-year-old.

Solid Stone brings strong consistency

SOLID STONE is a beast of consistency and it will be interesting to see if he can make a big impact on the weekend.

There is a quote of 13/2 on him to get the win* (odds recorded at 19:52 GMT on September 17th, 2021 at Coral).

He picked up a victory on his latest run. That was in a Windsor Listed run, the second success at that level this season by him.

Sir Michael Stoute’s 5-year-old beat three rivals in that latest contest. This is obviously a tougher challenge coming up to Group 3.

But the consistency that he has shown this season makes him an interesting prospect. That will be under scrutiny as his stamina at this longer trip will be in focus.

Can Ilaraab bounce back?

If we rewind a year, ILARAAB was looking unbeatable and firmly on the up and up. His form has fallen away lately.

In 2020 Ilaraab won five times and looked set for big things. On his reappearance, he delivered a victory at York in a handicap.

But then there have been issues in his last two. He hasn’t been anywhere near the same kind of quality for trainer Willie Haggas.

Ilaraab was last seen at York on a longer trip (1m 6f) last month. He was 18th of 20 in that contest having gone as the joint-favourite.

Connections put the cheekpieces on Ilaraab for the first time and will be hoping that kicks him a big jolt to get going again.

Ilaraab is a quote of 8/1 for Saturday’s contest* (odds recorded at 19:52 GMT on September 17th, 2021 at Coral).

Ad Infinitum with a lot to find?

The unexposed AD INFINITUM looks to have too much on her plate in this one, but it could be a good experience for her.

The filly opened the season with a victory at Goodwood in a Listed fixture. That was just the second racetrack appearance for her.

Ad Infinitum was then sent to the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot and that looked to be too much too soon for her.

She was never in that Group 2 challenge. She comes from a yard with a good track record in this race, but she looks as if she may need a couple to falter.

Ad Infinitum is a quote of 33/1 to take this* (odds recorded at 19:52 GMT on September 17th, 2021 at Coral).

Predictions & Tips for Newbury Legacy Cup Stakes Racing Odds

AL AASY looks so hard to oppose on his reappearance after more than a couple of months away.

The fact that he has won a couple of Group 3s already this season at Newbury and then was so close in the Princess Of Wales’s last time out, clearly makes him the one to beat.

There is a quote of 8/11 on him to take this* (odds recorded at 19:52 GMT on September 17th, 2021 at Coral).

FOXES TALES is a very interesting prospect for this fixture. He has just gotten better and better with each challenge this season.

If there is going to be an upset in this field, then it is likely to come from Foxes Tales. ILARAAB is more than capable of taking this if he can rediscover his true top form.
