A look at Friday's big Marsh Chase from the Aintree Festival

Horse Racing Betting

The highlight fixture of the day for Friday’s racing at Aintree is Marsh Chase betting (The Melling Chase).

This is a Grade 1 race with over £100k on the line for the winner. There are eight runners declared for this year’s renewal.

We have an exciting Marsh Chaser racing betting with Fakir D’oudairies and Politologue as the joint-favourites.

There are some big claims in this race that returns after having been cancelled last year.

Fakir D’oudairies to rise to the occasion?

It has been back to back runners-up finishes for FAKIR D’OUDAIRIES who is a joint 3/1 favourite in Marsh Chase betting* (betting odds recorded 20:24 GMT on April 8th 2021 at Paddy Power).

The latest of those finishes was in the Ryanair at Cheltenham where he found only the highly impressive Allaho too much to handle.

That’s three second-place finishes in four efforts this season for Fakir D’oudairies who is more than capable. He kept on well in the Ryanair for a second.

Plus he will have favourable conditions with the firmer ground underfoot. The six-year-old has a big, big shot at a Grade 1 win in this one.

Politologue
3/1

Politologue to claim second win at the Marsh?

The 2018 winner POLITOLOGUE is back for another run at the title.

He is the joint 3/1 favourite alongside Fakir D’oudairies* (betting odds recorded 20:24 GMT on April 8th 2021 at Paddy Power).

No doubt connections will have him primed for this one as he returns to this trip for the first time since finishing second in failed defence in 2019. That was to Min.

This season he has put a Tingle Creek victory on the board, the second of his career.

There was a late withdrawal from a scheduled Cheltenham Festival effort for him. That’s nothing to be too concerned about.

It means that Politlogue’s last effort was his second at the Grade 1 Clarence House at Ascot on a 2m 1f trip. He’s back up in trip and back as a big threat in Marsh Chase betting.

Can Dashel Drasher make it four in a row?

There has been some imperious form from DASHEL DRASHER this season. He compiled a hattrick at Ascot on his latest run in the Betfair Chase.

That cemented his status. Dashel Drasher had the beating of Master Tommytucker in that one as well as he scored by two lengths over him.

So there are no worries about his form, and Dashel Drasher likes to go from the front with a bold run.

There is a quote of 11/2 on him securing the win on Friday* (betting odds recorded 20:24 GMT on April 8th 2021 at Paddy Power).

Dashel Drasher thrives at Ascot so it’s going to be interesting to see if he goes as well on Merseyside on Friday.

But that was a big Grade 1 under his belt as he is sent back out in search of another one.

Can Notebook make a positive statement?

NOTEBOOK was last seen in the Champion Chase but never managed to get himself involved in that one, finishing seventh.

But Notebook is a top-class chaser for Henry de Bromhead and Racheal Blackmore is booked for the ride.

Notebook lines up as a current 7/1 option in Marsh Chase betting* (betting odds recorded 20:24 GMT on April 8th 2021 at Paddy Power).

There was a win for Notebook on his first run of the new season, scoring by a wide margin at Nass and he followed that up with good place finishes in his following two.

The Champion Chase did see him underperform, but Notebook is not to be totally written off though if he can find a bounce-back performance on his first trip at Aintree.

Does Master Tommytucker have enough?

Master Tommytucker was second to Dashel Drasher at the Ascot chase back in February. That was by no means a distgrace.

Does he have enough to put together a cohesive run at Aintree on Friday? He may well do better if he can keep the mistakes of the board.

There have been three wins for him during his campaign, taking him to four wins in 10 change efforts.

No issues are with him over the distance and while the leading two in the market for Marsh Chase betting look a class above the rest, Master Tommytucker certainly has place claims.

There is a quote of 13/2 on Master Tommytucker for this one* (betting odds recorded 20:24 GMT on April 8th 2021 at Paddy Power).

The Rest of the Runners in Marsh Chase betting

NUTS WELL is looking for a hat trick. He has been thriving for the last twelve month now, scoring in all but one of his last six starters.

The most recent win that he took was an impressive win in the Old Roan Chase at Aintree back in October.

Nuts Well has a course and distance score under his belt as well from a previous visit. There’s no reason why he can’t reach the places.

ITCHY FEET needs to respond to a poor effort at Haydock in the Rendlesham last time out.

He has looked a solid enough chaser for Olly Murphy by and large but still looks like he needs to find something to kick on a little further.

DUC DES GENIEVRES is one of two for Paul Nicholls in the field. He won the Arkle back in 2019 for Willie Mullins.

After taking a promising second place on his debut for Paul Nicholls at Cheltenham, he hasn’t been at the same level since then.

Predictions & Tips for Marsh Chase Betting Odds

This is just a hot contest. I is going to be a real highlight of Friday’s racing from the Aintree Festival.

There are some strong claims here but for us is POLITOLOGUE who just gets the nod as the 3/1 joint-favourite* (betting odds recorded 20:24 GMT on April 8th 2021 at Paddy Power).

He has some excuses in a credible second to First Flow in the Clarence House at Ascot on his latest run.

But Politologue has had more than a couple of months to get refreshed and we expect the 2018 winner to come back strong.

We also think that DASHEL DRASHER has something to offer as well. If he gets to the front and takes this field on then it is going to be fascinating to see what happens.

So he features for us as an 11/2 horse racing tip* (betting odds recorded 20:24 GMT on April 8th 2021 at Paddy Power).

The final one that we think could have a say is the obvious selection of FAKIR D’OUDAIRIES who is heading in the right direction.

On any other given day, he would have won the Ryanair this year at the Cheltenham Festival. But the top class chaser looks destined for big things.
