High Definition the 6/4 FAV in Dante Stakes Racing Odds

HIGH DEFINITION returns to action in what is likely a road to the Epsom Derby. He won both efforts as a juvenile and big things are expected of him.

The latter of those was a Group 2 success at the Curragh. He looks like something special.

High Definition is a quote of 6/4 in the Dante Stakes racing odds* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on May 12th, 2021 at Sportingbet).

He was supposed to have had a warm-up at Lingfield last week, but he missed that engagement. Will that just hamper him a little bit?

It’s hard to say, but he won those two runs as a juvenile from hopeless positions and with extra trips to work with there, High Definition may well be the one to beat once again.

Hurricane Lane
6/1

Gear Up to launch a challenge?

With Group 1 efforts behind him, GEAR UP poses a threat in this one.

For Dante Stakes racing odds, Gear Up is at a quote of 11/2* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on May 12th, 2021 at Sportingbet).

He won three of his four starts as a 2-year-old, one of those was here at York in the Acomb. That’s a form that definitely needs to be noted.

Gear Up claimed a win at the Group 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud, making all in that victory in October. It was a battling victory by a short head.

There is a stack of potential there and he has a chance if High Definition is not fully tuned up.

Hurricane Lane could pose a threat

Charlie Appleby’s HURRICANE LANE is another that arrives undefeated. However, he has had a reappearance run, whereas favourite High Definition has not.

Does that swing a little advantage the way of Hurricane Lane who is a 6/1 shot in Dante Stakes racing odds* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on May 12th, 2021 at Sportingbet)?

He looked very sharp and professional in landing a win at Newbury at class 3 a month ago. That was a very good opener as a 3-year-old.

There should be a lot more to come from the son of Frankel. There is every chance that he could get himself fully in the frame in this fixture.

Royal Champion not out of it

Coming from connections who have landed two Derby trial wins this season, ROYAL CHAMPION could pique some interest. He did land a win on his debut run.

Then on his reappearance run, he kicked things off as a 3-year-old with a good place finish in a Listed event at Newmarket.

Royal Champion looks to be in a position where he could push on. Place claims are not unreasonable for him at a quote of 15/2* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on May 12th, 2021 at Sportingbet).

Megallan adds to the mix

With a little more track experience compared to most of this field, MEGALLAN adds to the depth of the Dante Stakes. He looks to be a really promising colt.

He didn’t win any of his three runs as a juvenile. But on his second attempt as a 3-year-old he, Magellan landed a win.

That was in a Listed effort at Newcastle after having fallen foul of a bit of ill luck on his reappearance at Lingfield. The extra trip really adds to his threat in this one.

Megallan is running at a quote of 15/2 in Dante racing odds* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on May 12th, 2021 at Sportingbet).

The Rest of the Runners

PYTHAGORAS faces a tougher challenge in this one. He was quite productive as a juvenile, winning three times, one of them at Pontefract in listed action. On his reappearance, Pythagoras was fourth at the Blue Riband Trial at Epsom.

ROMAN EMPIRE may have something to find in this fixture. It looks a little beyond him. He looked a long way short of ability on his reappearance run five weeks ago at Gowran.

UNCLE BRYN won both efforts as a 2-year-old. He recently went to the Blue Riband Trial as the favourite at Epsom. But it was a really poor performance that he produced in that one. Frankie Dettori takes the ride though over Megallan.

BELLOCCIO took a fifth place finish in hos reappearance run three weeks ago. He did win his two starts as a 2 year old.

His reappearance was in the Classic Trial at Sandown but was beaten by more than 8 lengths in that by ALENQUER, who was supposed to be running in the Dante but has withdrawn.

Predictions & Tips for Dante Stakes Racing Odds

This is a really interesting renewal of the Dante Stakes at York. The primary reason for that is HIGH DEFINITION missing an engagement last week.

There is no question about his ability as he looks set to go places based on his juvenile efforts. But at a short price of 6/4 is he worth taking on* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on May 12th, 2021 at Sportingbet)?

There are good claims here from GEAR UP and HURRICANE LANE.

The latter just gets the nod from us at a 5/1 quote* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on May 12th, 2021 at Sportingbet). Hurricane Lane looks to have the range to go on improving upon his unbeaten start.

Another that we are interested in for Dante Stakes racing odds is MEGALLAN. He is coming up on a trip and has secured back to back strong listed efforts.

The trip is a big factor for his chances and is a 7/1 name for the shortlist* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on May 12th, 2021 at Sportingbet).
