Battash 3/10 FAV in King George Stakes Odds

There is a clear front runner for the King George Stakes Odds and there has been for some time. That is Battaash who is currently at 3/10 to take the win* (betting odds taken from Betway at 23:44 GMT on Thursday, 30th July 2020).

He had such a massive 2019 including claiming his third King George Stakes last season at Goodwood. He returned to action this year by storming his way to secure the win in the King’s Stand Stakes (Group 1) over Equilateral.

Battaash is a massively imperious sprinter and with the conditions at Goodwood favouring his turn of speed, this one may be a foregone conclusion. If he arrives in top form then his chances of securing his fourth-straight King George Stakes is very high.

Can Liberty Beach pull off an upset?

So we are going straight to LIBERTY BEACH next who is a distant 6/1 second-favourite* (betting odds taken from Betway at 23:44 GMT on Thursday, 30th July 2020).

She had a good course and distance score last year in landing the Molecombe Stakes at the 2019 Glorious Goodwood Festival. The 3 year old filly scored on her return to action this year in a 6f Haydock Listed trip.

Liberty Beach then found herself third behind winner Battaash in the Ascot King’s Stand Stakes. But she had shaped very well there, giving an excellent account of herself. In early July in her last effort she only found the progressive A’ali too good at Sandown.

Glass Slippers can take a positive step

We are of course, talking about the places here now about the rest of the runners. We don’t see anyone upsetting Battaash in King George Stakes odds.

GLASS SLIPPERS has a good claim to take a place finish and the 4 year old filly ended last season on a bang.

She secured a hat-trick before signing off for the winter, including a Group 1 success at Longchamp. She returned to action in mid-June this year and was 5th of eleven at the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot, five and three-quarter lengths back of winner Battaash.

Again, she would need something special to Battaash that she probably doesn’t have right now, but place claims are there and Glass Slippers is 8/1 in the market currently* (betting odds taken from Betway at 23:44 GMT on Thursday, 30th July 2020).

Ken Colt with too much to find?

KEN COLT is at 20/1 for the race* (betting odds taken from Betway at 23:44 GMT on Thursday, 30th July 2020). That’s some distant odds. Anyway, he scored a win on his last effort which was a Listed affair at Chantilly.

It was over the 5f trip and it was a career high for him as well. He bossed Al Raya in that fixture. Ken Colt gets a tongue-tie for the first time. A giant step forward in progress is going to be needed from him to get close in this, however.

Rest of the runners

ORNATE gets the headgear back on for this contest as he looks to try and live with some strong company. He just hasn’t been at the races this season at all.

His recent 6th place finish in a field of 11 over course and distance on Tuesday, sees him a long way back of the form that saw him take third place in last year’s King George Stakes.

DUBAI STATION was third in a Group 3 contest in his last effort at Deauville. A little more was expected of him at Royal Ascot after winning on his debut as a three year old at Wolverhampton. But Dubai Station was well down the field in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Ascot.

AL RAYA was recently beaten out by Ken Colt in a Listed race at Chantilly. That’s back to back second places for her now after following that up with a runner up spot at York in a Listed fixture. Her limited form as a 3 year old has been great but this is likely too much too soon.

Predictions & Tips for King George Stakes Odds

We are of course going straight to the top to pick BATTAASH for the win. The six year old just looks totally unbeatable on top of his game at this distance.

Considering the form has been proven this year with his Ascot score, he should follow up and land his fourth King George Stakes title.

Who fills out the places? Even though AL RAYA is coming on leaps and bounds, we have to lean on bto fill out the top three.
