15:20 Windsor Racing Odds & Tips: William Hill offer 5/2 on Garsman – 29th June 2020

Will Garsman get the best of exciting filly Poet's Dance again in rematch?

Horse Racing Betting

It is back to Windsor for some more racing on Monday. This is a Class 2 handicap that we are having a look out for this racing preview.

It’s a short sprint at 5f for the three year olds that are going to be heading to start. There are 8 declared for the contest, but RAYONG has been listed as a non-runner.

It’s a fairly tight market for it as well.

Windsor 15:20 Monday Odds*

Garsman 5/2
Poets Dance 10/3
Spanish Angel 10/3
Will To Win 4/1
Betty’s Hope 9/1
Electric Ladyland 17/2
Lady Quickstep 14/1

Garsman edges the market

With three wins in his last four runs, GARSMAN is a huge threat in this field. His last run he scored a very good win at Newmarket. That was by half a length over Poets Dance in a handicap fixture.

So those two go back at it again.

Garsman did have a little to spare in that last run, which was at 5f. However he is going up 6lb for this one, but he still warrants huge respect in this one. He is really on the money at the moment for trainer Mick Appleby.

It has been a fine season and it’s not surprising to see him at the head of the market. Garsman is a 5/2 contender* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:33 GMT on Sunday, 28th June 2020).

GARSMAN
9/2

POET’S DANCE

POET’S DANCE is bang in form. This is such a good filly but actually scoring wins has been difficult to come by. She is 22210-2 in her last six runs.

That recent contest against Garsman was a reapparance effort from Poet’s Dance.

She had been the favourite for that Newmarket contest. Does she have enough in her to turn the tables? She will have her backers from a 10/3 position* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:33 GMT on Sunday, 28th June 2020).

WILL TO WIN

There is a big third party in the picture for this one. That is gelding WILL TO WIN who just missed out on a five-timer recently. It has been some form from him.

That last run that he had was at Lingfield over a 6f trip around four months ago. He was second to Corvair in that one from a field of five.

If he strikes up immediately back in form then he is going to pose a threat in this contest and is one to keep on side. He is a 4/1 poke to win what is a really competitive race* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:33 GMT on Sunday, 28th June 2020).

SPANISH ANGEL

There is a threat as well from SPANISH ANGEL in this run. He scored a victory over course and distance just five days ago. There is a 6lb penalty that has been slapped on.

It has been two wins in his last three fixtures, the only two wins of his career worth noting. He is the only one with C&D on his side for this one.

He is a very solid and reliable tough, but this is seriously competitive company to try and handle himself in and he is 10/3 to get it done* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:33 GMT on Sunday, 28th June 2020).

The Rest Of The Field

ELECTRIC LADYLAND is his and miss, or at least she has been. She finished near the back of the pack at Royal Ascot on a 5f trip, which was 10 days ago.

That was on the back of a score at Goodwood five days before. Perhaps it was a little too much too soon, but the Ascot effort was a failed step up in class.

In search of some improvement is BETTY’S HOPE who hasn’t really fulfilled potential after a good start to her juvenile campaign. She won three times as a juvenile, as did Betty’s Hope.

She was last seen just over two weeks ago in a 5f contest at Goodwood and claimed a decent fourth in that one, behind winner Electric Ladyland in that fixture.

LADY QUICKSTER looks to be the rank outsider for this run. Her last trip saw her take 8th in a field of 10 three weeks ago at Haydock.

That was at the 5f distance. It’s likely that she will strip fitter but unlikely to be enough to score in this.

Predictions & Tips

This is a really competitive race and if Rayong had been left in, that would have added another exciting dimension to it.

There are both GARSMAN and POETS DANCE who are both in great form at the moment.

It will be a fascinating renewal between those two, but with Garsman scoring over the filly recently on a reappearance, you would imagine that he would be even stronger and gets the nod.

The other that we like the look of is WILL TO WIN, who just cannot be counted out of this field at all. Whoever gets this is likely going to have to dig deep.
