Fox Tal 7/2 FAV in Steventon Stakes Odds

FOX TAL is the 7/2 favourite in Steventon Stakes odds* (betting odds taken from Betway at 04:57 GMT on Saturday, 18th July 2020).

Supporters will be hoping for more from him however, after a disappointing Royal Ascot effort.

Fox Tal went at Royal Ascot in the Wolferton Stakes (Listed), a 10f race, and was 6th of 13 in that. It was a disappointing effort at the end of the day.

But last season he was going very well, nailing a fourth place in the Champion Stakes after scoring a win at Doncaster in the race before that.

GLOBAL GIANT
6/1

Betway

Global Giant is a likely big contender

On his debut for his new year, GLOBAL GIANT took a massive leap forward in form. He scored a win in a condition run on the all-weather at Wolverhampton.

Following that he went to Sandown and didn’t quite get the positioning right to mount a late challenge but still did enough to take fourth.

There’s a big chance that the John Gosden-trained five year old will be right in the frame and is a 6/1 option for this contest* (betting odds taken from Betway at 04:57 GMT on Saturday, 18th July 2020).

Pablo Escobarr can challenge for another win at this level

There has been some steady form from PABLO ESCOBARR who is a very smart colt. He took a second place finish on his reappearance. Before the winter break he had scored in December at this level.

So the claims are there. He looks a bold runner and gets the cheek pieces back on to tighten him up. He should be sharp after a third place from four at the end of June following a 113 day absence.

Pablo Escobarr will have some appeal for punters here from a 10/1 current quote* (betting odds taken from Betway at 04:57 GMT on Saturday, 18th July 2020).

Faylaq may settle on cut in trip

FAYLAQ makes for another great inclusion in this field. He was sixth on his reappearance effort at Newmarket, but had shaped better than that in the fixture.

He is coming down a couple of furlongs now and may be able to put something together here. This will be his first effort at this distance.

He is not to be dismissed from 8/1 odds* (betting odds taken from Betway at 04:57 GMT on Saturday, 18th July 2020).

Rest of the runners

DREAM CASTLE was really out of things on his last effort which was in the Wolferton Stakes. He was going well at Meydan before that. Hard to find great appeal.

EXTRA ELUSIVE has won at the course before. He claimed fifth place in the Wolferton Stakes last time out. There may be more to come from him as an outsider prospect.

PRINCE EIJI is stuck on his maiden win in his career. At Royal Ascot he was also in the Wolferton Stakes and claimed fourth. The trip is in question for him in this one.

RAAKIN ALHAWA made his reappearance recently and failed to make too much of an impression. He was 9th at Newmarket and gets the hood for the first time.

WALKINTHESAND was another who went in the Wolferton Stakes at Royal Ascot. He failed to make any kind of impression there and settled for eighth, well out of the picture.

Predictions & Tips for Steventon Stakes Odds

Plenty of claims here down the listing and it does appear to be quite a wide open field here. We are going to call up GLOBAL GIANT as our first pick as he was in Listed company last time out, but just never got a clear run.

FAYLAQ is another that failed to get a clear run on the board, but brings appeal coming back to this trip. He was progressing well last season and could feature.

PABLO ESCOBARR is another that could show up well in this fixture as well. He has won at this level as well and has been moving well in recent winless efforts.
