SHISHKIN is the current 10/11 favourite in the Queen Mother Champion Chase odds* (odds recorded at 17:57 GMT on March 15th, 2022 at William Hill).

He puts his unbeaten chasing record on the line once again.

The Nicky Henderson-trained Shishkin has proven time and time again to be something special.

He is clearly the one to beat in this contest and is looking for his third straight win at the Cheltenham Festival having scored in the Supreme Novices and then the Arkle.

Shishkin was pitted against his big rival Energumene for the first time earlier this year in the Clarence House at Ascot.

Despite ceding ground to his rival, Shiskin powered his way home to knock over the biggest threat to his Champion Chase chances.

That Clarence House form looks to be the way to go.

ENERGUMENE is something special at this 2m trip and he is the 7/2 second-favourite* (odds recorded at 17:57 GMT on March 15th, 2022 at William Hill).

He had opened his chasing career with five straight wins for trainer Willie Mullins.

But then came that duel with Shishkin at Ascot.

Energumene was reeled in on the run home.

His style is to get to the front and go hard and we would expect the tactics not to be changed up.

He is a high-class chaser but can he do enough to turn the tables on Shiskin?

The Queen Mother Champion Chase betting market suggests not.

Willie Mullins, who is looking for his first Champion Chase win, has another big role-player in this.

That is CHACUN POUR SOI who is 11/2* (odds recorded at 17:57 GMT on March 15th, 2022 at William Hill).

He is a six-time Grade 1 chase winner and arrives in form after winning the Dublin Chase last month.

The concern will be that he has misfired on both previous trips to Britain and he never got going in last year’s Champion Chase.

NUBE NEGRA was a runner up to Put The Kettle On in last year’s Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.

The current form suggests that he has something to find and a poor showing in the Tingle Creek last time out will have been a concern.

Despite his good run a year ago in this championship race, Nube Negra is facing a much tougher 2022 renewal.

ENVOI ALLEN knows all about Cheltenham, as he has won the Champion Bumper and the Ballymore before.

He fell in last year’s Marsh at the Festival.

It has been two wins in three runs for Envoi Allen this season and delivered the odds in a Grade 1 chase at Leapardstown last December.

Envoi Allen returns following a win but needs something bigger than his current form suggests.

FUNAMBULE SILVA has won the last twice. Those were victories at Doncaster and Newbury.

He looks pretty lively at the moment but is perhaps a long way from winning claims in this very strong race.

POLITOLOGUE was a runner up to Nube Negra in the Cheltenham Shloer Chase on his one appearance this season which was four months ago.

The veteran won the 2020 renewal of the Champion Chase but this is a big ask.

Last year’s winner PUT THE KETTLE ON faces an uphill struggle to make a title defence.

This is a much stronger field than last year, for starters.

The 2020 Arkle winner who has won four times at course and distance has been comfortably beaten on two starts this season.

Queen Mother Champion Chase Trends

Queen Mother Champion Chase trends at the Cheltenham Festival are the next piece of business that needs to get wrapped up.

There have been four winning favourites in the last 10 renewals of the Champion Chase.

Two of those were by the brilliant Altior in 2018 and 2019 when he was dominating the scene.

Three of the last four winning horses have come from British yards.

Across the last ten editions, there has only been one win to land the score in double figures. That was the 11/1 shot Special Tiara who won in 2017.

Queen Mother Champion Chase Tips & Predictions Cheltenham Festival 2022

So the Queen Mother Champion Chase tips and there is going to be no surprise pick that is coming out of the woodwork here.

SHISHKIN is the 10/11 favourite and it is hard to look past him* (odds recorded at 17:57 GMT on March 15th, 2022 at William Hill).

He reeled in Energumene so well at the Clarence House at Ascot at the finish, that this rematch at Cheltenham is likely to suit him.

Given that there is the big run up the hill, then that should be well within Shishhkin’s wheelhouse and it’s a little disadvantage to his rival.

ENERGUMENE is a brilliant chaser but he is a little unfortunate to be coming up as such a class act in Shiskin.

A 1-2 forecast for them wouldn’t be out of the question for Queen Mother Champion Chase betting.

For the one who could fill out the third place, it may be worth at a look at the long 33/1 each-way shot FUNAMBUL SIVOLA* (odds recorded at 17:57 GMT on March 15th, 2022 at William Hill).

He has looked like a really lively chaser and has found some progressive form this season.

This is the toughest thing that he has faced but may have a good run in him.
