Enable 4/9 FAV in King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes

It’s all about ENABLE again who is the 4/9 odds on favourite for another score in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 18: 28 GMT on Friday, July 24th 2020).

The brilliant mare is going for her third King George win (2017, 2019) and recent form, which saw Enable finish ahead of main challenge JAPAN by a head at Sandown, makes this fascinating.

She is two for two over course and distance then with those prior King George wins and appears to be the one to beat.

She was second to Ghaiyyath on that recent Sandown trip, which is nothing for connections to be concerned about as it happened after a 273 day break.

Enable will be geared to scoring an Arc defence later this year but looks ripe to take on this challenge. She should be better for that recent action at Sandown as she faces the step back up in trip.

Can Japan overturn old rival?

There is a good history between JAPAN and ENABLE. Japan found only Enable too good last year at the Arc and the Eclipse. It was the same story, but closer, when they met at Sandown in early July.

Japan was third, but a head to second place Enable, neither of them looking match fit to push on for the win in a 10f trip won by the exciting Ghaiyyath.

The interest in Japan, who is obviously such a better market value than the favourite, is how he fare on the extra trip. Jockey Ryan Moore is likely to get A P O’Brien’s colt close again.

Sovereign needs c career best

Last year’s Irish Derby winner SOVEREIGN comes in as a big outsider at 12/1 odds* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 18: 28 GMT on Friday, July 24th 2020).

In that Irish Derby back in June last year he streaked to the win, 6f clear of second place Anthony Van Dyck.

Sovereign had a return to action at the Curragh in June and he shaped fairly well in that contest. He has won one of his two trips at distance but the 4 year old certainly has to find something special here.

Anthony Van Dyck to claim minor honors?

It has been two runs since a return to action for ANTHONY VAN DYCK who is out there at a 12/1 quote with Sovereign* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 18: 28 GMT on Friday, July 24th 2020).

He returned with a second place at Newmarket behind the strong Ghaiyyath in early June.

He had a second trip later that month at Ascot where he was 5th in a field of 9, in the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes

Anthony Van Dyck had entered as the 9/2 F. With regular jockey Ryan Moore going into Japan, Oisin Murphy takes the ride.

Predictions & Tips for King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes Racing Odds

Well, it should turn out to be a two-horse race at the end of the day here. Enable and Japan are head and shoulders above the other two in this fixture.

So the decision comes in trying to split those two.

Does JAPAN have enough coming back up in trip to get the better of his favourite rival?

While he is the most appealing option in the fixture, we still have to go with the brilliant Enable to get the better of him.

She has the proven course and distance history and will be sharper for that recent Sandown blast.
